$100,000 allocated to Manteca foreclosure homes.  The City of Manteca just voted to spend up to $100,000 to board up foreclosed homes, turn on the water so the grass doesn't die, mow lawns, etc. Read the story here.While I applaud the City's efforts to maintain property values, is it the City's responsibilty or is it the property owners?  Yeah, yeah, I know the owner is a bank and some banks DON'T do this -- but WHY NOT?It's a catch 22.  The City is trying to thwart complaints, maintain values, but could that money be better spend elsewhere?  Hire someone to patrol, fine and collect from the owners?  I'm not sure what the answer is, what I do know is that Manteca is only 15 miles from Tracy.  I wonder how many other Central Valley cities will follow suit. 12/17/2007

Recently I visited the Woodbridge community in Manteca, CA. The sales staff is pretty young for the most part, but very accomodating and enthusiastic. They have quite a few activities and clubs although they are still building and don't have a huge population. The huge new clubhouse is going up rapidly. The community is quite like the one in Lincoln that my husband and I visited a couple of years ago. They tell me they have a Kaiser 1 mile away, which has been an issue for some of the other Active Senior Living communities in the East Bay and Lincoln. 07/18/2007
