January 13, 2010   On January 12, 2010, the island nation of Haiti was hit by a catastrophic 7.0 earthquake. The U.S. State Department Operations Center has set up a toll-free number (888-407-4747) for Americans seeking information about family members living or traveling in Haiti. Callers are asked to please be patient and call repeatedly until the lines clear. My apologies for not posting yesterday as it was a recovery day for me :) I celebrated my 37th birthday on New Years eve and partied with my loved ones at the Shangri La hotel in Santa Monica. We had a blast!! The City of Malibu encourages residents to recycle their Christmas trees after the holidays. Remember, trees must be free of metal/plastic stands, as well as all ornaments, lights, and plastic wrap (including tree bags) before drop-off or they cannot be treated as green waste.
