Previewing properties can bring back memories. I decided to check out some of the vacant lots that I was planning on showing to my clients this weekend. Land you say, WHY preview that? Well after the heavy rains of a couple years ago and then the droughts, I felt I needed to revisit some of these vacant lots in Malibu.I ended up driving about six miles up a scary road to this particular property. I was pleasantly surprised that there were construction people "fixing" the road and needless to say it was also "scary" at the same time. I am driving my Lexus RX 350 and there appeared to be less road for a Construction Truck and my vehicle... but we managed....Now I am digressing after I passed the "repair crew" I knew I have been here before, no it was not a deja vu  moment. The following letter was submitted to the City Council. I am writing on behalf of my family to ask you to consider not rezoning the Trancas Field as you examine the city's Housing Element update. My wife and I moved to Malibu from the East Coast, were married here and purchased a home in 2008. We picked Trancas specifically for the small community and rural feel of the west end of town. A sleepy place where things were quiet and safe.  A part of town that didn't have traffic and congestion.  A place we could safely walk for groceries, the beach and we hope one day-schools. We introduced Sadie Rose to the word Dec. 4, 2010, and her nursery looks out across the Trancas Field with views of gophers standing watch on their mounds, red tail hawks soaring and hunting, occasional coyotes wand... 03/03/2011
