Yamashiro Restaurant Worth Visit for the History

When I asked Endre Barath, Jr. if he had any restaurant suggestions in Hollywood, he gave me two tourist places to go, one of which was Yamashiro. I was actually searching for fine dining, creative presentations, wine pairings, tasting menus, cutting edge approaches. But Endre said Yamashiro was good for the views. I thought, sure, brunch. He was absolutely correct about that. Spectacular views. The Alaskan king crab legs were tasty, but they were a bit thin. The chilled jumbo shrimp on ice was fantastic but it's hard to screw up shrimp. Desserts were unimaginable and bleh. The restaurant was more interesting than the food.
