I went to the Bali Hai yesterday for the new grand opening and it was beautiful! The Bali Hai is one of San Diego's landmarks with the mulit million dollar view of Downtown San Diego. The Bali Hai was built in 1952 and has hosted many weddings and high school reunions. Here are some pictures I took yesterday before the legendary mia ties kicked in:)

Welcome Mitt Romney To La Jolla, California.  Mitt Romney - is one of the newest residents of La Jolla, California. Selling his home in Belmont, Mass he has purchase a 12 million dollar home in La Jolla, California. In an attempt to reposition himself, since losing his presidential bid in 2008, Romney has gone West Coast.  He traded a snowy commute for early morning beach strolls amid the dog walkers. And he's become a familiar face at California political events, addressing the state Republican convention last month.   The La Jolla home, with a long lawn sloping to a seawall, beach and the crashing Pacific waves, gave Romney the ocean sounds he craved and his wife, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, the warmer weather and horse-riding access she yearned. Ann Romney believes riding ha...

San Diego Treasures Series- The Scripps Institute of Oceanography The Scripps Institute of Oceanography is a part of the University of California. The Institute has had a long  progressive history in San Diego. In 1903 The Scripps family made a donation to start a research station that lead to the generation of the San Diego Marine Biological Association. Wow! This is really cool! I think I at least figured out how to do a slide show with photo bucket tonight! I went outside in my backyard and took these pictures of a storm that is rolling into San Diego over the ocean. The pictures show the Coronado Islands (you can see one, it's in Mexico) and Pacific Beach and Crystal Pier. This will make my blog a lot more fun and allow me to share more pictures of our beautiful city, San Diego!

And the views are spectacular of the coastline.         The dramatic view to the south is of the Scripps Oceanography Pier and the La Jolla Shores public beach.   The San Diego Glider Port was established in 1928 and since the early 1970's has become an internationally acclaimed glider port. I had so many beautiful pictures I thought I would share the rest. Today is supposed to be a beautiful day so I am going to go out to Encinitas to take some more pictures and enjoy the gardens at the Swami Beach location and then later check out the Grunion Run. Grunion are fish that have a bizarre spawning rituals. I will be blogging about that later...until then, enjoy the rest of the Torrey Pines Golf Course pictures from La Jolla, CA!

I had my day on Torry Pines south this week....ok it kicked my butt! The sunset was so beautiful and I got some awesome pictures. There is nothing like the fresh air, ocean views, smell of freshly cut grass, and the multi color sunset. I'm not very good at golf yet:), but what an awesome place to play in La Jolla, CA!

I got this e-mail today from the California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.) and this is huge! I know there has been a lot of lobbying for this in Sacramento and it will be well received and a big relief for stressed homeowners who had no choice in taking a way out. With many properties here in California that are at least a third to a half underwater, this is a welcome break! See the article below provided by C.A.R. NO MORE STATE TAX ON FORGIVEN DEBT Distressed homeowners no longer have to pay California state income tax on debt forgiven in a short sale, foreclosure, or loan modification.  Enacted into law yesterday, Senate Bill 401 generally aligns California's tax treatment of mortgage debt relief income with federal law.  For debt forgiven on a loan secured by a "qualified principal...

The La Jolla real estate market is one of the most expensive in San Diego County. A visit to La Jolla on-line, or better yet in real life, will quickly give you a good sense of why this is so. La Jolla, "The Jewel," is an extraordinarily beautiful coastal community with many homes offering fabulous views of the ocean from the hills, and a trendy, very up-scale village offering the finest in shopping and dining. La Jolla has often been compared to the French and Italian Rivieras with wonderful ocean and coastline vistas from the hills, amazing homes, beautiful architecture, and a terrific year-round climate, attracting visitors from around the world. I spent the afternoon enjoying La Jolla yesteray. I went to see my hairdresser in La Jolla Shores and it was such a beautiful day I decided to take pictures. I walked down to Scripps Pier on the beach and then walked back past La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. I ate lunch at the local deli and enjoyed the sunshine sitting outside working on my laptop! Ahhh, this is why I moved here from Dallas 11 years ago! I met a friend for happy hour at The Spot on Prospect St. and took some pictures in front of Jose's and bought a book at Warwick's on Girard. I love the fact that all of these places in the village were walking distance!

One of my friends just e-mailed me this article from Forbes. I love the fact that San Diego is mentioned in the article since we were one of the first markets to suffer. Check out what Forbes had to say- Markets are efficient and participants in the housing market are well aware of its problems, so we believe these prices already reflect the "shadow inventory" of foreclosures and short sales in the pipeline. Buyers and sellers are not blind, they don't have to wait to see homes pop up on the MLS to factor them into the price they are willing to bid or ask. That's why in the past three months some of the places with the largest excess inventories have seen the biggest gains in prices, including San Diego, Phoenix and Las Vegas. No Double-Dip For Housing The Fed's termination of a mortgag...
