There's a street in Indio that rivals the beauty of the exclusive Clancy Lane in Rancho Mirage.  Avenue 49.  Not alot of people are aware of it, which the residents of this West Indio street like!  The street runs East West connecting the Eastern edge of La Quinta at Jefferson to the Western edge of Indio at Monroe.  It is only 2 lanes, and has a walking path running along it's edge, lined with a white fence.  The landscape is desert friendly, low water and maintenance with Mesquite trees, hedges and desert flowers artfully planted. It is intriguing to me how few people, both locals and seasonal visitors, who are aware that the Palm Springs Valley is home to two of the largest polo clubs in the United States!  We are second only to Florida in numbers of fields and players and the economic boost the polo world brings to the Valley every season.  The two Polo Clubs, Eldorado and Empire are contiguous to each other and between them have approximately 22 active polo fields!  That's alot of land because each polo field is about the size of 9 football fields..or 300 yards by 150 yards for each field.  Imagine having that wonderful, open venue in our beautiful Valley! It's that time of year again when the horses and rigs start returning to the desert for the winter equestrian events.  Polo is HUGE in our valley.  Seems strange, but we are second only to Florida with numbers of players, horses and fields.  Our East Valley relys on the players/familes and grooms to jump the economy every single year.  Horses are GIANT business here in the Palm Springs Valley. Eldorado Polo Club has 9 fields, hundreds of stalls and turnouts, a 1/4 mile galloping track, a front office and of course the Cantina for dining and entertainment.  Field 1 features the star matches at noon and 2 pm every Sunday.  I have a box fieldside for my clients and friends..a good time for everyone. Indio Real Estate - Construction on the Rise After years of a lack luster economy, Indio construction appeared to be sitting idle amongst vacant lots of blowing sand and unfinished projects. Let there be light at the end of the tunnel! New construction is on the rise according to the City of Indio. Construction on a project located at the corner of Avenue 42 and Jefferson near Bermuda Dunes on 88-acres, formally called Northgate will begin soon. The mixed-use project was started in 2009 but ultimately went into foreclosure. The project was recently purchased by Chandi Group USA according to the Desert Sun. Montego Dunes  is a non gated subdivision centraly located in south west Indio. The community has  117 single family homes built in 2003 & early 2004.   Montego Dunes has the  feel of a small community but without HOA dues. Close to schools, shopping and dinning.  Montego Dunes in Indio is  a sought after community to call home.
