Paving Project - Highway 18 Running Springs to Big Bear Highway 18 from Running Springs to Big Bear is scheduled for repaving September-October 2015. Residents have been requesting this work for several years due to the condition of the road. With the possible El Nino season ahead of us, it's good news for locals.Work will begin around September 9 near Big Bear and then move south, completely mid-October at the junction of Highway 18 and 138 in Crestline. In addition to a fresh coat, the work will include a "recessed reflective limit line" - the fog line. Landmark Decision- Same Sex Marriages Now Legal in US & Real Estate News Today was a historic day in the United States when the Supreme Court ruled that Same-Sex Marriage was legal. This has been a long battle and finally the states must adhere to the Supreme Court ruling. Many states that had banned this practice, this morning had started issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples.  How will this affect real estate? Flying Drone Causes All the Fire Fighting Planes Grounded During Major Fire in Big Bear Area Photo taken by CAL Fire.  Firefighters were faced with a major challenge on the Lake Fire in San Bernardino County yesterday as a hobby drone, (UAS) unmanned aircraft system, was spotted in the fire area where air tankers were flying. Just before 6 p.m. in the Onyx Summit area an air tanker spotted the drone in the area where the firefighting aircraft were working. This fire is only 21% contained.   Firefighters were forced to ground all firefighting aircraft until they could find the operator and get the drone out of the area. 2015 ASICS 30th LA Marathon was Fun even with Record Heat From the Stadium to the Sea The 2015 ASICS LA Marathon had record heat yesterday but 22,333 runners came in having fun regardless. They started at Dodger's Stadium in Los Angeles and finished at the Santa Monica shore. This is a newer route as the LA Marathon (when I used to run it) was pretty much a loop in LA.  They called this a 'run within a run' as the top USA runners were qualifying for the Boston Marathon and for the USATF Championship which had a monetary prize 1-15th place for males and females.  RESULTS: Male Runners 1. Philadelphia Museum of Art has the Famous Rocky Steps Recently I was in Philadelphia, PA and we stopped at the Museum of Art which is a very impressive building and has about 200 steps (approx) going up to the top to enter the museum.  2600 Bejamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia PA 19130 (215) 763-8100  This building sits on the top of the Bejamin Franklin Parkway and is the third largest museum in the United States.
