Looking at the map below, Granada Hills is located to the major freeway arteries in Los Angeles County.  The 118 freeway is probably the less traveled freeway in the San Fernando Valley.  I don't think I've ever been in traffic on the 118 freeway. Here is the map: Granada Hills borders North Hills, Northridge and Porter Ranch.  The map is a little misleading.  North Hills is on both sides of the 405 but only shows on west side of the map.  Porter Ranch is located in Northridge. Regardless, only a professional (that would be me) can help you understand the layout once you decide to purchase a home in Granada Hills. Homes.LA is reporting that the average home for sale in Granada Hills is $516,265 and the number of available homes for sale is 195. Homes priced up to $650,000 are selling wi...

Relief appears imminent for thousands of San Fernando Valley homeowners hit with state tax bills for mortgage debts forgiven in 2009.State lawmakers said Monday they plan to cancel the state tax obligations with a vote Thursday. Shannon Murphy, spokeswoman for Assembly Speaker John Pérez, D-Los Angeles, said legislation will go before the Assembly Revenue and Tax Committee today and the Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, and will receive a full vote Thursday.A similar Senate floor vote planned Thursday would send the bill immediately to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has repeatedly stated his support.  The new bill is similar to one he vetoed March 25.  But this time it omits a part he opposed – financial penalties for businesses that routinely seek state tax refunds.  Democrats re...

To help you develop your spending and savings plan, it's important to examine your spending habits. Ask yourself the following questions.  If you can answer "yes", you may be at risk of damaging your credit an setting yourself up for financial difficulties. If you want to be successful at managing your money, you'll need to understand the importance of developing spending plans, spending money wisely, and saving. Needs Versus Wants! You can begin by thinking about your personal needs and wants.  "Needs' are items that you must have for a basic survival, such as food, clothing, and shelter. "Wants" are things you desire but can live without, such as fashion, items, restaurant meals, or entertainment. Make a list of each and estimate the costs; then compare. Are you spending as much for your wants as for your needs?  Are you currently making payments on items that you bought to satisfy your wants? Remember, wants are neither good or bad. However, you'll want to personally balalance your needs and wants so that yu can sucessfully establish a ...
