Dick is home to Pacific Shores, a never-developed subdivision between Lake Earl Drive and the Pacific Ocean.  Pacific Shores subdivided floodlands in Lake Earl decades ago, and although no homes were ever constructed, 1,500 lots were created and streets were constructed. Pacific Shores borders the Pacific with a stretch of beach called Kellogg Beach.  Closed to gas powered vehicles within the last 12 months, Kellogg Beach is a wonderful get-away for a quiet day on the beach watching Pelican's and seagulls, laying in the dunes and watching the waves roll in.  My husband and I go there about twice a week in the summertime...
