San Diego Now Allows Tiny Homes and Park Models as ADUsThe ADU landscape has changed in a big way.  This is great news for property/homeowners and investors with small lots with limited space in some ways. The City of San Diego has recently passed an ordinance that allows Tiny Homes and Park Models to be installed as ADUs. All the San Diego jurisdictions are allowed to install them as well under special circumstances. But this is the tip of the iceberg. Jurisdictions Statewide, including the City of Los Angeles are also allowing them as well. It looks to be only a matter of time before we see many if not most jurisdictions beginning to allow them. This does come with a caveat, however. Albeit Tiny Homes and Park Models are a lot less expensive than site built and even manufactured ADUs, ...

This is not what I signed up for nor what I believe in. Yes, I've been in the affordable housing arena for over 3 decades and have worked with thousands of seniors and entry level homeowners that are looking for lower cost living solutions. One of those is to assist people who have the appropriate size lots to put an Accessory Dwelling Unit on their property. But just for the record what you see in this link is not what I stand for in any way, shape or form. This is pushing the envelope beyond the pale and is the beginning of the end for our neighborhoods and our quality of life. I do believe that property/homeowners have the right to create an additional living space on the earth they own beneath their feet. There has been a paradigm shift in the way we choose to live out our lives. Ma...
