Danville, California is an upscale California community located in the heart of the San Ramon Valley. The foundation for the community was formed in 1854 with land purchases made possible by the California Gold rush. The Danville post office opened in 1860 and the population in 1862 was placed at 20 “in-town” residents. Ranching and agriculture brought people from the Midwest to the Danville area. In 1891 the first “high-tech” influence was felt as the Southern Pacific Railroad arrived fueling an explosion of growth and commerce. Interstate 680 arrived in the mid-1960’s. Mt.
