The California Coastal Trail and Enderts Beach are the place to go when you are looking for a short walk but with big rewards.  You start the walk at the parking lot that is approximately 400 feet above ocean level.  Make sure you bring someone along to carry your chair.  Be sure to read the informational signs that are posted along the trail.  There is a fresh water creek that flows into the ocean and plenty of room to spread out your blanket and sunbathe.  As we drove to Enderts Beach, we passed Pebble Beach and South Beach.  We saw ocean kayakers, boogie boarders, people flying kites, and of course surfers.  The surfers come out in the dead of winter let alone a perfect day like this one.  The weather was 73 degrees, but seemed much warmer due to humidity.  It was definitely a day to...

Surfside Grill and Brewery400 Front StreetCrescent City, CA  95531707-464-7962MAPAcross from beachfront park in Crescent City, you will find the Surfside Grill and Brewery for your lunch and dinner dining pleasure. The bar serves up micro-brewery  beer on tap as well as wine.  A room is available for parties and an outside patio for your enjoyment when the weather is warm. The restaurant was originally a brewery but has ceased brewing beer and has turned the brewery space into retail shops that are currently looking for tenants. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~    For lunch, I highly recommend the tuna melt with seasoned fries or the Cobb salad.  For more information about the Surfside Grill and Brewery, please give them a call.

Community involvement from real estate professionals is really important for our careers as real estate agents in Crescent City, Arcata, Eureka, Fortuna, McKinleyville...or any city.  Being involved in a community oriented event shows that you, as the real estate professional, really care enough about your community and society to take time out of your busy real estate work day, and go out of your way to do something positive, to do something meaningful, for others in your community.Last weekend, Lucky Star Realty, the entire office including our agents, broker and secretary where out there supporting and sponsoring the Third Annual Crescent City Skateboard Competition.  Why would a real estate company even consider being involved, let alone volunteer the entire staff and office into su...

Lately, in Eureka, Fortuna, McKinleyvill, Arcata, Crescent City and surrounding areas in Humboldt and Del Norte counties, it seems that the prices are being stable and dropping rather than going up as was seen a couple years ago.  For homes in the Eureka area, even the properties in the mid to upper $200,000s are staying on the market longer than previous years.  Then there are those $400,000 and up homes that are staying on the market longer and longer.  At this point, both sellers and buyers are fully aware that it IS a buyer's market.  So sellers need to be more realistic about pricing their homes and buyers are being more careful about their home purchase in both Humboldt and Del Norte counties.  Even in Crescent City, the savvy investors are becoming more and more scarce.  Most buy...

I like living in Crescent City, CA.  Why, you might ask?  COMMUNITY TOURI was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, which had it's advantages.  I went to pro sporting events, the Day On The Green Concerts by Bill Graham, shopped 'til I dropped, and had many, many restaurant choices.  There are no pro sporting events in Del Norte County, but the Del Norte Warriors football team, who went to 3rd round North Coast Section 2A League this year, has a packed stadium for every game.We do not have major artists and large concerts here, but we have an excellent group of local actors, the Lighthouse Repertory Theatre, involved in local theater presentations and DNACA, that does an excellent job of sponsoring talented musicians from around the Country to perform in our little town.  Shopp...

The 4th of July in Crescent City is a blast.  My 5 kids, who have all moved from Crescent City to go to school, join the army, and whatever else, all come back each year for the festivities along with thousands (estimates of as many as 25,000) of others out of town visitors.  It's definitely ONE BIG BASH!It all starts on July 3rd with a Pre-Deck Party, Art Show and Sale at the Cultural Center to view artwork by local artists, which benefits the Crescent Harbor Gallery. For more information, please call 707-464-9133. Next is the Annual Chamber Deck Party - A huge town party with live music, no-host bar, food, and friends! This year, the Deck Party will be held at the Downtown Plaza in Crescent City. Funds raised go to support the city's fireworks show on July 4th. This party is packed an...

Today I stayed in Crescent City I got to my office about 7:00 and started browsing through some of the new listings that was put on the MLS. I made lots of calls to follow up on my clients and made appointments with agents to show houses. I am always up and running all over the Del Norte County. Later today after I made my calls and had lunch with my agent I got back to the office and had my assistence farm.   Later two couples walked in my office, they let me know that they are retiring and looking for a nice peaceful place to stay. In a quiet secluded neighborhood so went over some houses, and I gave them list of listings that they can preview. I gave them my card and starting follow up on them next week to view homes in Crescent City.
