Last Friday morning, the local newspaper, The Daily Triplicate, reported that, "The carcass of a 40-foot-long male sperm whale turned into a prime tourist attraction after it washed up on South Beach on Friday morning."  You can imagine the spectacle as hundreds of people stopped to check out the animal.  This is the first sperm whale to show up at South Beach in Crescent City.  There was a humpback whale that showed up a few years back in an area close by, but the first for Crescent City.  Hundreds of cars parked along Highway 101 to witness this wonder.  Crescent City is located along the Pacific Northwest on the very tip of California.  Homes in this area are one of the lowest in California and the most affordable.  Prices range from $150,000-$300,000 for a decent family size home.  ... 02/03/2008
