The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, noses are running (hopefully not yours)…spring has definitely arrived! It’s that time of year when, if you are lucky enough to own property here in Costa Mesa, to conduct the few simple maintenance operations that   1)      Are all too easy to overlook; and 2)      Are guaranteed to save you big money as time goes on. Spring is the easiest time to trim those branches while leaves ar...

When searching for a new house, topping most people’s list of requirements are the number of bedrooms, number and configuration of bathrooms, square footage, yard size—characteristics that are easy to compare. Architectural style might be important; asking price, certainly highly important, although many prospective buyers assume some wiggle room might be possible. There are so many facts to consider, particularly when that new home might include relocating to Costa Mesa, that one extremely important factor sometimes gets short shrift: the neighborhood. When I escort my clients on a tour of the properties they have decided to check out, I’m sure to remind them to observe the surroundings as well as the home. Some key details to observe about a neighborhood when relocating to Costa Mesa...

Licensed in California!   Hurry up!  And wait...        That's usually the story with applying for a mortgage loan oringator license in a new state. Get your background/credit checks & fingerprinting done, knock out your continuing education, pass the state exam, fill out the paperwork, write a check, send it away, and wait.  And wait.  And wait...        California was no exception, but finally, after packing up my car & driving cross country to my new home, I can work in my back yard.  It's been a weird couple of months since I've never lived anywhere I couldn't work, and after completing all of the state requirements in late September, it's been quite a waiting game that I'm glad has come to an end.         I am incredibly appreciative of the Realtors, financial advisors, past clie...

Speechless Sundays - South Coast Plaza Christmas       I love Christmas though I'm not sure about having it all start before Thanksgiving.  Still, South Coast Plaza does a wonderful job of making it so beautiful with lights and decorations throughout the mall. They deck the halls in so many wonderful ways that perhaps I can handle it being a week early.

Wordless Wednesday - California Sky on Fire     One of my goals for this month was to get each day started before the sun came up.  Consequently I've been able to take in many more sunrises.  This one was especially rewarding, it looked as if the sky was on fire.  Nature never ceases to amaze me.
