Coronado Art Walk Today 9/16/2012 Today is the second day of Coronado Art Walk 2012.  It will be open from 10AM to 5PM and located at the Coronado Ferry Landing.  I was showing houses in Coronado yesterday and stopped by the Art Walk in the afternoon after dropping off my clients.  Enjoy the photos I snapped of the lovely art and fun time.   This year there are 100 artists and many exhibit work that is just stunning!  In addition to the art there are musical performers during the day.  And, if walking around admiring the beautiful paintings, photography, jewelry, glass art, clothing and other goodies make you hungry there are some terrific restaurants nearby.  Here is a list of Coronado Ferry Landing Restaurants.          Coronado Ferry Landing is a perfect spot for this event.  You can...

O Solo Mio Whether you live in San Diego or just here on a visit, if you long for an authentic Gondola ride Italian style, like what you might expect in Venice, you are in luck.  The Gondola Company of San Diego offer rides through the canals and waterways of Coronado Cays and while I have yet to take this ride, I am assured by the guys in the photo that you will have a truly wonderful experience. The rides last about 45 to 50 minutes but they have been known to last a bit longer for some special guests like newly weds. There are various types of cruises but I am told ( by the same guys ) that the sunset cruises are the most popular and the most exciting. The cost is $115 for a couple but they have special pricing and gondolas for larger groups. So when you are in San Diego, experience ...

The island of Coronado is a neighborhood that offers a vacation-like lifestyle to its residents. One of the reasons why it is considered a resort city is its excellent weather. According to the Coronado Market Insider, it’s overall weather risk is actually very low compared to the U.S. average hence “fun and sun” is expected in this remarkable community.   Coronado is also known to be affluent. This is reflected in the median listing price of homes for sale in Coronado, which is at $1,686,370. Despite this fact though, it is interesting to know that the days on market of active real estate in the area is approximately 90 days or 3 months. This actually indicates that the significant price of the properties is compensated by the desirability of the neighborhood! If you want to learn more...

Coronado House for Sale: My favorite house on the lower end of the market right now on B Street. Maybe it is because I grew up as an only child and could only dream of getting the large family together for vacations. Now I have 3 kids and have to wait another 20 years before I could really fill this house to its ideal. From the exterior this is the quintessential Coronado home, complete with striped awnings.  The lot features a main house with 2 bedrooms and is certainly decorated for particular tastes. Honestly some will think it needs updating, especially the bathrooms, I just see potential. It also has a generous front patio perfect for drinking your morning coffee or evening cocktail while watching the bikes ride by. Walking out to the back patio you see a separate structure. In th...

Coronado Home Market Update: The two best home values on Coronado just went into the escrow, the Tuscan inspired one on the right was the superior of the two with rooftop views of San Diego City-Scape. After just over two months on Coronado's Home Market, these two houses are pending. Both houses were listed at just over $1.5 million. Featured 4 bedrooms, 3 and 1/2 bathrooms in 2,600sqft and lots of outdoor living space. The two were new construction, the owner had removed the old home divided the lot and then built these two homes, perfect for enjoying the Coronado lifestyle for those that feel stairs keep them young. Both houses had living space on three levels. Where else in Souther Californina do you find basements, except for Coronado. The basement level still let in natural light...

We’re going to review some of the common mistakes that first-time buyers make, and we’re going to show you how they can ruin your opportunity to buy your first home. How to avoid those types of blunders? You'll find out in our HousePro Academy online course, Home Buying 101. MISTAKE #5:  Getting Excited and Buying New Furniture Before Closing The fifth mistake is buying a car or furniture loan before you complete your home purchase.  I know you’re so thrilled to be buying your new home and you want some beautiful new furniture to complement your house.  It’s so hard to resist… but you’ve go to do it.  I’ve seen so many times where the home buyers went out and bought a bunch of furniture on credit while they were in escrow for their home purchase.  Right before the closing date, their mo...
