Santa Claus rode into Chino Hills on Saturday, December 8th. Not only did Santa fly into our faire city, he brought real snow and two live reindeer. Santa decided it was best to land at the Chino Hills Marketplace located at 4200 Chino Hills Parkway, Chino Hills, CA. Many families came to see Santa and take pictures. After sitting on Santa's lap and whispering long lists into Santa's ear, many families made their way over to Keller Williams Realty where there was major Christmas Cookie decorating contest going on. Many children entered the contest and we must admit that lots of cookies were devoured that just did not make it into the contest. Hmm, I'm wondering if all those "mistakes" on the cookies were possibly "on purpose." Although the contest was originally slated to have only one ...

Although the last dairies that once filled the valley to the east of Chino Hills are giving way to housing and industrial developments, the bovine aroma still lingers on some days. Odors aside, residents tout the city's recreational offerings, including equestrian facilities, the historic Los Serranos Golf & Country Club, free summer concerts and film series in city parks, and Big League Dreams Sports Park, an amateur sports facility with replicas of six major league baseball stadiums.Chino Hills had the second-highest median income — $86,443 — in 2002 of all cities in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, behind the desert enclave of Indian Wells. Although the presence of the California Institution for Men, a prison in neighboring Chino, may give some pause, Chino Hills has the third-...

Chino Hills, long a bucolic vestige of California's ranching and homesteading history, has grown in the last two decades into a prosperous bedroom community on the western edge of San Bernardino County. The city of 73,000 draws commuters from Los Angeles and Orange counties seeking more affordable family living. The rumpled folds of the landscape protected the area from much development until the 1980s, according to a history of Chino Hills published on the 10th anniversary of its 1991 incorporation.City planners have tried to retain some of that open feel by land-use planning that clusters housing in villages throughout the 46-square-mile city to conserve undeveloped space. As a result, Chino Hills has 3,000 acres of city-owned open space, 635 acres of public landscaping, three dozen pa...

Pre-developmentAfter the Spanish founded Mission San Gabriel in 1771, the Chino Hills were used extensively for grazing by mission cattle. During the Mexican Republic era, the hills were used as spillover grazing from such surrounding Mexican ranchos as Santa Ana del Chino and La Sierra Yorba. After Mexico ceded California to the United States in 1848, the land was still used primarily for grazing. This land was sold to Richard Gird, the founder of nearby Chino.[5] With the building of the Carbon Canyon Mineral Springs in the modern-day Sleepy Hollow region of the city and the new Los Serranos Country Club in Los Serranos, Chino Hills, California, the area became a destination for both Los Angeles tourists and bootleggers during the prohibition because of its isolation. For the same reas...

Needs Assessment Survey The City of Chino Hills is starting the process for the future use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. An important part of this process is to ask residents and other stakeholders what they think are the most important needs in their neighborhood. The survey is available online or at the Civic Center, 2001 Grand Avenue. Surveys can be obtained from the main public lobbies of City Hall, the James S. Thalman Library, and the Civic Center Community Building. Responses must be received no later than January 4, 2008. As a consumer, deciphering the market can be tricky. The whole question of WHEN and WHAT to buy or sell can be a little overwhelming. Putting all the available information together and then examining your goals and strategies is crucial. My role as your Real Estate Consultant is just that; to help bring you  the latest information and then help you apply that information in achieving your desired goals. One extremely important component  is examining the statistical data as it becomes available. Because it takes some time to compile statistical data, the majority of statistical reports come out 1-2 months after the information is obtained. What this means is that we must look at the current patterns and trends as they arise and then make an educated decision based on such trends and dat...
