      The Rotary Club of Cayucos-Seaside is proud to nominate Gil Igleheart as the "Rotarian of the Year" for 2012-2013. Cayucos Rotarian Jessica Peterson has been nominated as ‘Teacher of the Year’ in the Cayucos Elementary School District, for her outstanding connections with students, dedication to the teaching profession, and continual push for academic excellence.      Ms. Peterson, as her students call her, received an undergraduate degree and teaching credential from Western Illinois  University.   The Rotary Club of Cayucos-Seaside will celebrate five years of community service on March 16, 2013.  The celebration will be a  ‘Masquerade Costume Ball”, held at the Cayucos Vets Hall with help and support from the Cayucos Educational Foundation.   Attendees can expect an evening of fun.  Music and entertainment is via a live jazz band. In addition to choice of wine and drinks, an array of  hors d’oeuvres will be served before prime rib or salmon. Masks and costumes are optional. I love my Siri. When I tell my Siri that "I love my Siri", she says. “Good for you”. My Siri cracks me up. It's a cool tool on the IPhone 4S. I can make notes, create reminders, and most of all, give instructions to Siri to help me find something on the web!  She speaks to you, and tells you as-is, when she does not understand what you says. Often times, her findings end up with me laughing out loud, and I have wondered if it were my accent or pronunciation. Today, a fellow Rotarian and I went around town to drop off bags for collection of canned and dried food for our local food bank.  My fellow Rotarian asked if I brought a pad to take notes.  I told her about my Siri.  We left bags with various merchants in our town.
