Fun at a Dia de los Muertos Celebration We were at a Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration last night at a beautiful home near the beach, courtesy of some very good friends of ours. Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican tradition, around Halloween. It’s a celebration of life, a time when the spirits of the departed return to visit their families on October 31 and leave on November 2 (although I’ve seen a number of different interpretations of this holiday, as well as dates, when looking online).   The Day of the Dead tradition is celebrated with special altars with objects and photos, to remember and honor loved ones who have passed.
