Happy 25th Birthday to the Creation of the Internet Today, March 12, 2014 is the 25th Birthday of the INTERNET. Google posted this today and how remarkable that they received a copy of his original post. On the 25th anniversary of the World Wide Web, Google shared this guest post from Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the web. On March 12, 1989, Berners-Lee distributed a plan to improve information flows: “a ‘web’ of notes with links between them. He reflected on the past, present and future of the web—and encouraged the rest of us to fight to keep it free and open. His invention certainly changed the entire world for the better of mankind.   Click here on the Google Blog site and read the entire article. Thanks for Reading my Blog California is a dream-come-true state no matter what...

My First Coyote Pictures   I have been trying to get a good coyote picture for a year or more. I am either without my camera when one pops up in the daytime or my camera focuses on the bushes beside the coyote and he ends up being out of focus. Last week I saw one but it was almost dark outside and he blended into the hillside so it was too dark.  But today, the conditions were perfect and I had my good camera. I am a happy Realtor and Photographer who found a coyote in the foothills of Calimesa.     And there he goes looking for dinner. Now I am on a mission trying to get the cottontail bunnies in my neighborhood. Bunnies do not come out until dark and then my camera cannot focus. Onward and upward!

Like Dorothy Said "There is No Place Like HOME" Tonight while watching the Emmy Awards, there was a tribute to Judy Garland who played the lead in the movie "The Wizard of OZ created in 1939. For anyone who doesn't know, Dorothy Gale was biking home while a tornado was coming near and she finds herself and her dog Toto on a lonely road and far away in another realm. After meeting the Tin Man, The Friendly Scarecrow, The Cowardly Lion (my favorite), The Wicked Witch of the West, The Good Witch of the East, The Munchkins and finally the Wizard of OZ who she asks to help her get home. Anyway this fantastic movie is a classic and we used to watch it once a year after it finally came on TV. But through all the trials and tribulations Dorothy went through, she realizes that she wants to get h...

My Movie-Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House Mr. & Mrs. Blandings lived in the city in a high rise apartment. He rode the bus to work which was 25 blocks away and his wife usually took the elevator to the 20th floor unless the elevator was broken and that seemed to be always. This could be difficult when carrying 5 bags of groceries after the taxi dropped her off.       Blandings decided to move to the country and buy a little fixer with the money they had been saving. So they called Kristin Hamilton; Realtor in Redlands.  Kristin was glad to help them and showed them several places. They wanted some land, flowers, a little barn and a house to remodel.         They found the perfect home and soon settled in.        Kristin suggested several contractors but Mr. Blandings said he knew a ...

Why Should a Seller Use a Realtor It has been proven by the 'National Association of Realtors' that Sellers who try to sell their home themselves (commonly called a FBSO- For Sale By Owner) takes longer to sell, get a lower price than homes sold by Realtors, do not know what paperwork to use, and run the risk of being sued later for failure to disclose.

Do You Have Radon Gas Under Your House? Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is released during the natural decay of uranium, which is present in most rock, soil and water. It is the leading cause of lung cancer deaths among nonsmokers and is also one of the disclosures required in California NHDs for all residential property transactions.   Radon can be found throughout California since uranium exists in rock and soil. Every home is within a radon zone- ranging from Zone 1 (High Potential) to Zone 3 (Low Potential). Zone 1 has the highest potential for an indoor radon screening greater than 4 pCi.L (pico curies per liter).   Zone levels vary throughout California and you can check your NHD for yours. If you are in a high or moderate radon potential zone, you should have...

Did You Watch the Beatles Last Night on TV?   I fell in love with the Beatles the first time I saw them and I remember watching the 'FAB 4' on Ed Sullivan on that wonderful Sunday night at February 9, 1964 when 73 million views saw them performing. My friends and I all knew the words to their songs and we were all mesmerized by them; the English accent, the longer shaggy hair and the unusual clothing. I was a Beatles fan for years and remember buying their albums and cutting out their pictures in teen magazines and pasting them all over my room. Of course, I am not alone since almost everyone in the world knew who the Beatles were and loved them and followed them in the media. Amazingly the Beatles are still popular today with the young and old. Wow, not too many can grab the young kids...

Horses at Fascination Ranch in Calimesa Where else can you drive down the street and see people horseback riding? That's right, not many places in Southern California but can be a common site in Calimesa and Yucaipa, CA. There is a ranch in Calimesa called Fascination Ranch. It is a terrific place to see wildlife, plan a wedding or just have a social event. Check out their website at http://fascinationranch.com/. Notice they are wearing helmets while riding as they practice good safety skills for their clients. When I was reading about the ranch's history, I found that the Singleton Ranch was originally bought increments by Bill Davis in 1984. He named it W.D. Fascination Ranch; the W.D. stands for Bill's legal name, William Davis and fascination was the name of a beloved National Show ...

My Next New Car...and so Versatile and Cute   So many communities are nearby a golf course and "Licensed Drivers" are allowed to drive their carts on the city streets. I live in California and there are many large golf courses in the state. Recently I was in Calimesa, CA and saw several people driving their golf carts on the roads. I think this is so interesting and look how cute this golf cart is. I want to get one myself. If you live or want to live in southern California, contact me and i can help you buy a home preferably near or on a golf course. Did you know there are approx 16,000 golf courses in the US. Florida is #1 with 1021 courses and California is #2 with over 921 courses. I was in Rancho Mirage and Palm Springs last week and saw golf carts everywhere. Want to move to South...

6 More Weeks of Winter According to Phil at Punxsutawney Punxsutawney Phil of Pennsylvania is the world's most famous forecaster. Phil  popped out of his burrow Sunday morning and saw his shadow and predicted six more weeks of winter while the crowd gathered at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, PA. According to folklore, if it's cloudy when the groundhog emerges, the critter will leave his burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If it's a sunny day, Phil will supposedly see his shadow and, frightened, retreat back into his burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks. Phil emerged at 7:28 a.m. but quickly retreated. Phil is not always right; 80% correct and 20% wrong. We will soon see if he is correct this year. I hope so! Phil was brought to the podium by a group of local di...

The Art of Making a Vision Board and Redirecting Your Life   Until recently I had never heard of a vision board but have been a firm believer in the video “The Secret” where your mind can control your destiny.   The photo album laced with ribbon hanging on my office wall with pictures, shapes I adore, and images of cruise ships, titles or pictures of places I want to visit lastly and a picture of a baby (because I would like to be a grandmother) is a vision board even though I didn’t know it.   Do you take a piece of poster board, cork board or a hanging photo album and glue pictures of things like money or a job or whatever you want and then it automatically comes true? No, but placing items you love, your dreams, your total desires in the future and putting it on a board and focusin...

Women's Council of Realtors Convention San Diego was Great 01.19.2014 Women's Council of Realtors Convention San Diego was Great 01.19.2014 Started off with a fantastic welcoming party to all members and our speaker was terrific. Of course her discussion was interrupted during the football game at the final play where the ball was dropped and made everyone scream. We we again introduced to Linda Lee- 2014 President Elect and Heather Ozur-2014 State President. This party was held in a fantastic home on Coronado Island along with wine, appetizers, and delicious little cupcakes.   The following morning we started off with an array of speakers and welcoming speeches and a early meeting for "First Time Attendees". I went to the convention in 2012 but not 2013 so I attended the first time att...

Try Tang's in Calimesa if you Want G-R-E-A-T Chinese Food Try Tang's in Calimesa if you Want G-R-E-A-T Chinese Food   I recently moved to this community and we stopped in to Tang's for a quick lunch one afternoon. I was so surprised as this restaurant is like fine dining once you walk in. The service is great, the soup is delicious and everything we have ordered has been so tasty. The restaurant seemed to be packed all the time but good thing it is a big restaurant with many tables. John Tang opened the restaurant in March of 2010. It was his intention for people to come in and enjoy a 2 course dinner made fresh to order. “Everything is served to your table freshly cooked from their kitchen and the food is made without MSG. Tang’s offers a full menu of spicy, mild, vegetarian and meat d...

Celebrate Chinese New Year from January 31st-Feb 14th 2014 Celebrate Chinese New Year    Did you know this Chinese New Year 2014 is the 'Year of the 'Horse'. I was fascinated while reading the history. I had always known there was 12 months and 12 different animals. So while reading, I found out why. Legend has it that Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on the Chinese New Year. 12 animals showed up so he named one for each month. Depending on what year you are born, you take on certain traits and personalities. The 12 animals are the horse, rat, ox, snake, monkey, tiger, rabbit, dragon, goat, rooster, dog, and pig. Chinese New Year is the longest holiday celebrated every year as it goes for 15 days and starts on the darkest day of the lunar phase and goes until the brightest day i...

Ghost Bike in Calimesa CA....Experienced Bicyclist Lost His Life A ghost bike or ghost cycle is a bicycle set up as a roadside memorial in a place where a bicyclist has been killed or severely injured and usually by a motor vehicle. Besides being a memorial for the cyclist, it is a reminder for all who pass by to remember to share the road. On December 29, 2013, a 64 year old bicyclist, Phil was riding on Calimesa Blvd, when a driver of a green vehicle crossed over the road and hit him head on at approximately 50 miles per hour. The driver left the scene and the Riverside Sheriff’s Department found him lying in the road severely injured. Phil did not die at the scene but recently died to his injuries on January 12, 2014. Phil was an experienced rider and belonged to several bike clubs. ...
