Benicia is just chock full of interesting activities.  This activity can be done on your own time and pace!  Starting on first Street and in front of the Veteran's Hall, a well known tile artist by the name of Guillermo Wagner Granizo, produced mural tiles that are inset all along First Street depicting the history of Benicia as he saw it. These tiles were created in his studio in Benicia, CA.  Granizo's use of bright colors, geometric shapes, heavy lines, and varying textures gives his creations a vibrant and festive feeling. You can see and feel the life of Benicia in these 3x3 murals as you stroll along First Street. Start at the Veteran's Hall and keep going til you see the Carquinez Straits.  There is plenty to see and do along the way and the tiles are on both sides of the street.... 08/30/2010

Early morning and early evenings is when you see  Benicia Dogs out walking their owners.  The brisk morning air seasoned with the salty breezes from the Carquinez Straits greets the dogs and humans when walking down at the end of First Street in Benicia, CA.  Mild evenings provide that last minute sunshine to play fetch at the green downtown.   Downtown Benicia is such a beautiful place to walk around and see the sites. I went down by the water today and it was such a beautiful day. Hanging around down by the water made one of the hottest days of summer feel so pleasant. It is located in our downtown area by the City offices, and Police Station. It is a real nice post office and if you know when to go there you can get right in and out.  It really is never to long to wait and if you do get the chance to stand in line say hi to your neighbors. It always seems to me if you start a conversation others want to engage which is a great way to pass the time in the post office. I have had a post office box in the post office for almost 20 years. I love roller coasters.  My husband does not.  Consequently when our twin daughters were young, I would have to ride twice on a roller coaster until they were old enough to go together.  I love the wind in my face and my stomach feeling like it is going to drop out, screaming my head off, and when finally arriving at the finish feeling elated and ready to do it again. Short Sales in Benicia are kinda like that.  One recent delightful townhome in Lera Village made it to the finish line this past week.  It was a Bank of America Short Sale.  We got an offer right away in February of this year and all the paper works was submitted like clock work.  and we wait and we wait.  The Bank of America Equator system finally accepts an offer, but of course it has to be double checked by someone else... 08/21/2010
