Tonight I received an email from zillow about my newest listing. I called the contact info and am still laughing! Here is how the conversation went. "Hi, I'm Karen from Real Living Hamilton Landon, you called me about 14675 Jelan in Apple Valley." "No I didn't." "Is the xxx-xxx-xxxx?" "Yes it is?" "Is you email xxxxxxxxxxx?" "Oh that must have been my daughter contracting you." "Well would you have her call me about the house when she gets a chance." "No I can't .......my daughter is seven." Now I'm cracking up........ Mom says, "Can you tell her to stay off of zillow?" Laura and I had a very nice chat, but in my firmest mot trying to laugh voice I let her know that she couldn't contact agents until she was 18 about buying a house. I also mention to her tha,t she could come be an agent...

It’s the first day that feels like fall in the High Desert.  It’s a perfect day to talk about the HOT summer season and how hot the summer was for Desert Knolls real estate. Over the summer 96 houses sold in Desert Knolls, it’s an executive area in Apple Valley, close to the freeway, the hospital, retail, restaurants and movies.   The average house sold was 2400 sq ft., was $107.40 a sq ft, on the market for 42 days and sold for 100.96% of asking price. Talk about a HOT deal. The least expensive sale was listed for $35K, sold for $70k. It had a few issues. The most obvious being it was burned out.  The largest sale reported to VVAR.com.    The house that hit the top of the list sold for $432K, is 3583 sq ft. built in 2001, it is behind a gate. If this was your house on the market and you are selling it, would you describe it to sell it? Would you try to create something that will just get buyers or agents attention? Desert Knolls is a lovely area in Apple Valley As the name may imply, the homes in this neighborhood boasts "A Room with a View" Desert Knolls is commuter-friendly, near the 15 freeway, close to shopping and medical facilities. The year 2013 ended with 98 sales* The average home sold was 2374 sq. ft. at $98.95 a sq. ft. for an average sale price of $235.241. The average days on the market were 53. The highest reported sale was at 12914 Valley View Court. Residential Homes Sales, First Quarter market report 2013 for the Town of Apple Valley   2013 is ¼ over. So far 265 houses have sold. (Not mobiles in parks or condos)in Apple Valley.   There are currently 141 houses listed for sale as an active listing. 91 are listed as contingent, 216 are pending, (in escrow or heading there)   In Jan. 113 homes sold at an average selling price of $158,981. Smoke Alarms   We walk past them every day as we walk through our homes and never think about them until they start with that annoying chirp sound reminding us that the batteries need changing.  We never think of them but they are a  valid part of our everyday lives and I thank God that they worked in my home last night. As i knew that I had to get up early this morning, and knowing how much trouble i have with sleep, i took a sleeping pill before turning in at a decent hour to go to bed last night.  Sometime during the night I was dreaming that there was an alarm going off and my wife was pulling my arm in an attempt to pull me off of the bed.
