Who Helped to populate Twentynine Palms? Is there a name that could be mentioned? Yes, there is. His name is Dr. James Luckie. (what a nice name. I would go to a doctor named Dr Luckie) He is credited by the 29 Palms community with helping to bring numerous amounts of people there. These People are Soldiers who fought for our country during WWI.  They were individuals who suffered from exposure to what we call Mustard Gas. The affects of that chemical warfare agent would create blisters, and it has  mutagenic and carinogenic effects as well.  Inhaled in large amounts it can cause bleeding and other issues in the lungs.
