Today I took a drive around in my neighborhood and shot a picture of these 3 houses that were for sale on the same street. They were all built in 2008, priced fairly similar and have similar layouts. Many of you are probably seeing this every day now due to the economic situation with people being forced to re-locate and sell. This made me wonder about several things: Do sometimes people see neighbors house go up for sale and they decide to do the same? Could there be something wrong with the neighborhood? Or is it simply unfortunate circumstances that many people find themselves in now? All three houses are empty and in my opinion the first homeowner out of the 3 who decides to make their house stand out from the other 2 would sell first. This should start from the streetlevel where a ...

I just returned from a very well attended Cenotaph ceremony in Maple Ridge this year despite the drizzle of rain and he sea of umbrellas. It struck me as I watched the sombre crowd that those there in attendance fell into 3 categories: The young who were trying to understand, The Middle Aged who never had to understand, And the Old who understood only too well, And then there were those with something better to do... This year my thoughts during the moment of silence went out to a colleague of mine from Keller Williams Results Realty, Trevor Street.  Private Street is a reservist with the Cdn Armed Forces as has already done a 6 month deployment to Afghanistan. Trevor is 23 years old and a hell of a good and succesful Realtor in our area, he is selflessly re-deploying voluntarily to Af...

Today is Monday, July 14, 2008.  Twenty eight years ago quite early in the morning of Monday, July 14, 1980, I sat on the south of Lakeshore Blvd at the base of Walkers Line in Burlington, Ontario.  In full view was an image now indelibly cast in my memory of this determined young man running in a double-step and skip style suited for his prosthetic leg, on his way from Oakville to Hamilton.  All of a sudden I was completely overcome by uncontrollable emotions that I had never quite experienced before.  I was only one of a few who were there to offer support to Terry Fox as he came by, and after I feebly roused a "Go Terry" he waved over to me; that's when I totally lost it. More here [...] John in Port Moody

Downturn? What Downturn!?After a slow Fall transitioning into late January Port Coquitlam Real Estate has taken off with a vengence in February picking up where it left off Summer 2007.All well priced properties are selling and Buyers are plentiful, good weather, continued low inerest rates with the expectation they will go even lower alonmg with the still exisiting pent up demand have driven this climate.Dont look for a reduction in Port Coquitlam Real Estate Prices any time soon, with the massive chnages to the areas transportation corridors living in the Port Coquitlam area can only become more desirous throughout 2008 out towards 2010. Scott Leaf - Real Estate ProfessionalKeller Williams Results RealtyPort Coquitlam BC
