Are you still renting?                    If so, you're losing money! Think about these three ways you lose money by renting:   You are paying for someone else's mortgage payment. This means that you are missing out on the appreciation that the property gives to the landlord. Appreciation is value added to the property over time. Historically, homes appreciate significantly over time thus making many real estate investor multimillionaires.  2.Renters don't get to determine their monthly housing expenses like homeowners can. Mortgage payments do not go up over  time like rising rents. Just think about how much rents have increased over the last 10 years. Home buyers, who had low   monthly payments 10 years ago and did not refinance their mortgage, still enjoy low payments and don't hav...

Recently, my 5-year-old nephew, Lincoln, began racing "duht bikes" (he can't pronounce his "R"s very well...it's cute).  Last weekend, he had a race.  My brother, the proud papa who started Lincoln racing, gave me a call and invited me out.  So, of course I packed up the car and drove the 3 1/2 hours through the California desert to watch my nephew race.  We packed up sandwiches, soda, chips, fruit and water and headed out past Parker to watch the race.  My brother has recently started racing as well and got a few practice runs on the track for his races the following day. It ends up that only a few kids showed up for the race.  And, by a few, I mean three (the absolute bare minimum "a few" can be).  The kids just practiced and practiced, hoping more kids would show up.  Unfortunately, ...

I have family in Lake Havasu City, AZ.  Every time we drive out for a visit, we pass this sign just outside of Parker, AZ and it makes me laugh.  Apparently, Montana isn't the only state that allows an open container of alcohol.  While tacos and beer sound great, this could be dangerous!  Of course, I NEVER drink and drive and think it's stupid for people to do so.  But, I laugh at the sign nonetheless.   Heather Chavez - Second Self Virtual Assistance: When There Just Isn't Enough of You to Go Around!

Last weekend I went to visit my brother in Quartzsite, AZ.  It was a true eye opener.  For those of you who don't know, Quartzsite is the destination of thousands of snowbirds every winter.  They arrive with their campers, trailers and variety of other RVs to camp out in the warm desert until the chill of winter passes from their homes, then they head home again.  Quartzsite is a sleepy little town for most of the year with only about 5,000 year round residents.  Most of the town and surrounding areas are taken up with RV parks that remain empty until the snowbirds arrive starting in the fall.  What struck me about Quartzsite are the plans for growth and industry that the city is planning.  New restaurants, grocery stores and other small businesses are trickling into town bringing more ...
