Persian Room Fine Dining in Tucson, AZ My husband and I recently celebrated a closing with client friends at the Persian Room Fine Dining located on 9290 N Thornydale Road, Ste. 100, Tucson, AZ 85742  520-744-1414I must admit that I'm a sucker for atmosphere.  I'm not one of those wild about entering one large noisy room with little or no privacy for eating.  Right away I liked that this one was set up in an L shape, and that there was plenty of decor and room dividers to help diners feel a little more intimate. They had a friendly hostess at the door and enough waitstaff to allow for good service, even on a Tuesday night.  Our waitress was Erika. Our friends had been before, but it was our first visit.  I was thrilled to see they had a separate bar area, quite a large room, that would do...

Contemplating Selling Your Tucson Townhome? In the last six months, 539 townhomes in Tucson have sold.  Not Marana, Oro Valley, Vail, Sahuarita or Green Valley.  Just Tucson.  214 of the now CLOSED listings, almost HALF, had an accepted offer in one week or less. Over 400 of them were priced at $250,000 or less.Wondering if a townhome is for you?  Typically, a Tucson, AZ townhome is one story, shares a wall or two, and has a carport or attached garage.  Condos here are more like apartments and mostly have unattached parking. HOA fees often determine into your loan payment, so watching that pricing is important as well.  Community pool?  Park? Those are common as well.As a buyer, maybe a condo or apartment isn't for you.  Maybe you want the low-care often associated with maintaining the e...

The Power of PizzaI'm a little slow to post about our Valentine's Adventures, but still wanted to share a mini review about three pizza places located in Metropolitan Tucson in February 2019,Instead of the expensive, white tablecloth Valentine's extravaganza, we chose to do something a little bit different this year.We decided to be secret shoppers, or food critics, and visit three places we've never been that specialize in Pizza.  Part of this had to do with an amazing story in the local newspaper about Catalina Craft Pizza, but I'll get to that. So, after reading that article, I went to Yelp to see what else stood out.  I found Fiamme Pizzaa.  From there I remembered driving by ZPizza in Oro Valley many a time to see a packed parking lot, so that was place 3.We decided to judge on Crus...

AMERICAN PIEFebruary 3, 1959“The day the Music Died”I know, a long, long time ago. Not so for me. I can relate to Don McLean’s lyrics personally.Don McLean wrote his song back in 1971, so time had passed since that February day in 1959.Don Mclean was a paperboy on the cold February day. That, I am sure, is where he got the idea. And I read the paper that day. Back in those days we got the morning paper, The Arizona Republic. We lived in Phoenix at the time. And our front porch is where I saw the story.“A long, long time ago I can still remember how that music used to make me smile And I knew if I had my chance That I could make those people dance And maybe they'd be happy for a while But February made me shiver With every paper I'd deliver Bad news on the doorstep I couldn't take one mor...

Sabino Canyon I love hiking! When I lived in New Mexico I used to go hiking at least once a month and considered it something that was vital to my happiness. When I was moving to Tucson I thought that hiking would have to be something I would be giving up because I was under the impression that the desert around Tucson was just miles of flat land studded with saguaro cactus's, but boy was I wrong! After I had lived here for a few months I was feeling really disconnected from the natural world so one of my co-workers told me about a hike she went on at Sabino Canyon and thought it might be something I would enjoy doing. So I gathered a few of my friends and planned a hiking day and I am so glad I did! To start out with, the Sabino Canyon hiking trails are located right outside of Tucson ...

1.  Sunrise.Everyone talks about our sunsets, but don't miss getting up early for these beauties!!These are views over the Rincon Mountains, located on the East Border of the Tucson Valley. 5:30 a.m. this morning.  I looked outside and had to go grab my camera. After two years of waking to this view, it doesn't get old! This is up Oro Valley Way, looking towards the Santa Catalina Mountain Range. Tucson sits in an elevated valley between four Mountain Ranges - Santa Catalinas to the North, Rincons to the East, Santa Ritas to the South, and the Tucson Mountain Range to the West.  If you are over in the Oro Valley, Marana areas North and Northwest of Tucson Metro - The Tortolitas are the ones to the North.  They were cleary visible in the Golf Accenture matches a couple years back.
