Here in a couple of weeks, On March 29, 2014, the Rim Country Optimists Club teamed with Payson Rotary Club Foundation, Parks & Recreation Department, Game & Fish, Trout Unlimited and DJ Craig to host the Annual Kid’s Fishing Festival at Green Valley Park in Payson. This Great Community Event brought families from all around our community for a FREE day of fishing. No fishing license was required for anyone. Game and Fish provided free fishing instruction, even loaned fishing gear and bait when needed. Wow!! You can't beat the word "FREE". A Fun Family Activity for FREE. How often do you hear of that?! Jan 29, 2014, Wednesday, Time: Approx. Arrival : 4:45 PM. The Hashknife Pony Express comes through Payson and will stop at The Payson Post Office. The Hashknife Pony Express makes its ride every year traveling 200 miles from Holbrook thru Payson on its way to Scottsdale, Arizona, and delivering approximately 20,000 first-class letters by horseback. The ride is led by the Navajo County Hashknife Sheriff's Posse. How interesting it must be for those that receive Mail from them. More than two dozen riders in authentic cowboy clothing carry the mail, relaying the bags along the route. This was absolutely beautiful to see in the real. I walked out at just the right time and just had to get the camera. I love our Sunsets in Arizona.
