The Idaho based assisted-living, Bee Hive Homes, had a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday in Lake Havasu City.  The new facility will feature some things you might find in a highend home such as stainless steel appliances and high ceilings.  The facility is located on Jamaica Boulevard and is made up of fifteen private rooms.  Each room has its own private bathroom.  Everyone shares the common living room, kitchen and dining area.  It will also have large flat screen televisions and plush furniture   Any and all needs of the residents will be taken care of by a great staff.  The meals are an upgrade.  All meals are dietician planned and served family style.  Residents can eat anything they want when  they want too. On Wednesday, the planning and zoning commission of Lake Havasu City voted to recommend the rezoning of two of Lake Havasu City 's most respected areas.  On August 6,   the Havasu Riviera project and lower McCulloch Boulevard area will go before the city council. Currently, the 250 acres south of the Water Safety Center at Contact Point is where the Havasu Riviera project is located.  It is zoned light agricultural, but if passed by the City Council, it will be rezoned to mixed use and multiple family residential, putting it on the road to becoming a Resort-Related Mainland.  The plan will include an art and convention center, a marina, a five-star hotel and resort, and a four-year university.  The proposal will also call for development of commercial business and residential housing in... 07/17/2008

Believe it or not Lake Havasu City is the home of the London Bridge .  Strange, but true.  The bridge was purchased for $2.5 million from London in 1968.  The bridge was taken apart and reassembled in Lake Havasu City for another $7 million.  The bridge was complete and open to the public in 1971.  The bridge has been a popular place to visit ever since.  Come visit today!   05/27/2008

It sure doesn't take long for our weather to turn. Just a couple of weeks ago we were barely hitting a high of 70'. Now it is Easter Sunday and it is beautiful outside, the sunrise was amazing with the full moon over the lake still.College and other spring breakers are on the lake boating around and enjoying the wonderful weather. Here is to hoping that the buyers are going to be reducing the inventory this spring and summer. I am confident that we will have a good warm weather selling season this year. What with the first round of retiring baby boomers wanting to find a warm place to live, to familys wanting to get a good deal on a 2nd home for the boating season. I don't cook.  It's not my thing.  My son's girlfriend, however, L-O-V-E loves to cook.  She's good at it, too.  So you can imagine the horror in her eyes when I told her that my cranberry sauce comes from a can, my rolls are bought prepackaged, my dressing comes in a box and I let Saralee worry about making the perfect pumpkin pie.  I thought she was going to faint when I told her how excited I was to find prepared mashed potatoes in a 32 oz. tub!This year we've been invited to her house for Thanksgiving!  I've been asked not to bring anything. When I started Second Self Virtual Assistance many years ago, I didn't set the alarm and I didn't worry a lot about what I should wear to work.  It was a short  commute from the bedroom to my home office.  Just go through the livingroom, into the hallway, take a left and walk about 8' and there I was. Days would go by without having be "presentable" for clients.Move the clock forward and today it's quite a different story.  However, I now find that even though the alarm goes off at 6:00am and I'm settled in and working no later than 8:00am Monday - Friday, my wardrobe has taken some serious hits. Lake Havasu is one of most diverse lakes that I have ever been to. For those people that think that the West Coast does not have a boating environment you are mistaken. The thing that I find appealing about Lake Havasu is that we can do or go many different places. My wife and I like to take friends out and pull them on a wedge style tube. I enjoy watching my so-called muscular friends hold on for dear life. I have tried to teach my wife Alison how to wakeboard and ski without much success. Husbands and wives should not be allowed to teach each other new skills. I recently went out with some friends to ski one late afternoon and I was not prepared for what was about to happen. A question that people ask frequently, "What is there to do in Lake Havasu?" Well, I will tell you that in the summer it one of the best places to people watch. The London Bridge Channel is a great place to sit and watch the parade of boats and people. Then we love to find a quiet cove and relax with close friends while floating in the water. If you like a little more excitement, just drive up the Colorado River to the sand bar. The fun is plentiful but beware it may need to be censored for the younger crowd. In the winter, hiking to Sara's Crack is a spectacular show of how diverse the desert can be. The canyon seems to appear out of nowhere and the color is astounding.
