I just received my 'Volunteer Draft' from the 2008 Superbowl committee. Well, I volunteered once to avoid the draft, this time I'll just ignore it. Again, if anyone is interested, go to University of Phoenix Stadium (in Glendale, after all the Phoenix International Raceway is in Avondale, but that's a different story) this coming Saturday, April 28th, 8am-1pm.They are advertising FREE admission to volunteer, and you have to admit that's a bargain you can't miss.

Sierra Verde is a stunning community in Glendale Arizona.   I'm a prior resident of that community.  The homes were built in 1997 - 1999 and there are approximately 1100 homes in Sierra Verde.  The homes were built by Jackson Properties, Shea, Fulton and Morrision.  One and two story homes range in size from 1400 square feet to over 4000 square feet. Sierra Verde is located north of Interstate 101 and west of 67th Avenue.  Within the communities are walking paths, volleyball and basketball courts, waterfalls and a stunning lake on the north side of Arrowhead Loop Road.    Many ducks and geese make daily visits to this lake and so so the residents.  You will commonly find joggers or walkers around the lake at dusk watching the sun go down or in ...

It's been pouring...literally! I hear it even hailed in Tempe today.  When I lived in South Florida I was rained out in every which way.  If I was a RAIN GOD worshipper I would have become an aetheist in the 15 plus years I spent between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.  It's no wonder I have yet to take a trip out to Seattle! However, and I say this with humility - the rain yesterday was a welcome site.  Living in the desert one has a greater appreciation for dark clouds, roaring winds, lightning bolts and the cool breeze that dances through the air after the sky has opened up and generously poured gallons of water.  Ironically did it have to rain on Thursday - I missed drop in Tennis yet again at the Goodyear Community Park - deja vu SoFlo! In other news: the boys and girls over at Luke AFB ...

Continuing on in my comparisons for the prior years - GLENDALE.   Glendale Arizona showed the same pattern as Peoria - home values stayed relatively stable during 2006 with only a slight drop, but the quantity of home sales did decrease.  The fourth quarter of 2006 saw a drop in the median home value to $245,000 from the third quarter where the average was $250,000.   At the end of the fourth quarter 2005 the median home value for Glendale Arizona was still at $245,000 so the home prices have only hovered slightly.   But let's point out the great part.....      The median home value for Glendale at the end of 2004 was only $165,000 so over two years the average price has increased approximately $80,000 or 48%.    That's a great return on your investment. As in Peoria, the quantity of the...
