Currently there are 2012 active listings in the Chandler AZ Real Estate Market. The inventory of single family homes has remained relatively flat. This Information is from Rossmar and Graham the Andersen Springs HOA. You may have noticed our greenbelt grass is turning brown in some areas. This is due to four main line breaks last week, one right after another. Unfortunately, the pump house had to be turned off while the breaks were repaired and the grass has suffered. To compound this issue, the irrigation pump is having some mechanical malfunctions as well. The company that maintains the pump has been troubleshooting this and the irrigation water is back up and running. We are not sure why the pumps are malfunctioning and a specialist is visiting tomorrow to determine what the problem was. Hopefully the watering will continue through the night as scheduled. Woo hoo! New Chandler Shopping Area - Portico Place Hooray! The ugly blight of the Rogers Electronics Plant and then the demolished remains on the Southwest corner of Dobson and Chandler Boulevard is gone.  This borders the Andersen Springs neighborhood. Construction is in full swing on a CVS (another one?)  and new shopping/hotel development.  The CVS Pharmacy will be located on the corner along with the first of two Class A office buildings. Chandler Art Walk - takes place in downtown historical Chandler the first wednesday of the month.  It's a quant art walk, reminds me a little of Sedona's atmosphere but this is a closer to home. I'm guessing there was close to 75 vendors with exhibits, for example:  painting, photography, hand blown glass, jewelry, wood craftsmanship and a whole lot more. The restaurants are open, from bistro's to breweries, mexican food, thai and a darling tea shop that serves lunch / dinner and beautiful pastries.  On every corner is someone to direct you throughout the art walk and different little bands playing the guitar and piano.  Reminded me of the south where they walk the street and serande the people strolling by. Including in the current inventory of homes for sale in Gilbert 168 are bank owned (REO) and 235 are short sales. In April 2008, 56 of the homes sold in Chandler were REO and 28 were short sales, so the percentage of distressed home sales was approx 34%. April showed an increase in sales price, but there were several 1 mil + homes that sold, that may be a false positive to this months increase in ave sales price. Last night was the end of year dance concert for the advance dance classes and the Modazz and Improv Club dancers of Chandler High School.  The concert was held a Chandler Center for the Arts.  My daughter was in the concernt and I must say did a wonderful job with her dances.  But the truly amazing thing, is that all of the dancers were wonderful.  The skill level and professionalism shown by these young and talented dancers was inspiring.  They danced a wide range of dances to several styles of music from country to hard rock, popular, with a small mix of classical.  The skills displayed also ranged from ballet to modern dance with bits of jazz and hip-hop.  Mrs. Buren is the dance teacher at Chandler High.  She has done a wonderful job teaching the students.  The students choreograph... 04/25/2008
