George Joseph Capewell was born in Birmingham, England back in 1843. I don’t know when the family moved to the United States but he was educated in Woodbury, Connecticut. At 15 he was working for Scoville in Waterbury, Connecticut. By the age of 20 he was the Mechanical Superintendent of the Cheshire Manufacturing Company. In 1870, he founded a business that is still in operation to this day in Bloomfield, Connecticut. It took him 11 years to make a machine to manufacture the finished product, those machines are still producing that product. Now hopefully you are curious as to what that machine manufactured and now is the time to tell you. George’s lifelong ambition was to invent a machine for the production of horseshoe nails. Got ya on this one, didn’t I? Until tomorrow keep a smile on...

Trijntje Cornelisdochter was born Edam Holland back in 1616 to Cornelis and Anna.  Her parents took her to the carnivals to earn extra income when she was only nine.  People from all over came to see her even the king Frederick Elector Palatine and his wife Elizabeth traveled to The Hague to gaze at her.Sadly, Trijntje Cornelisdochter Keever died when she was only seventeen of cancer.  What you may not know of Trijjntje is that she is the tallest female person in recorded history, standing eight feet four inches tall.  Her shoe size was fourteen inches long.  Her clothes, knife, fork, spoon, shoes and a life-size painting are on display in townhall at Edam.Until tomorrow my wish for you is health, and happy sales.

Dear Lord, so far today I have not gossiped, lost my temper, been greedy, nasty or selfish. I have not whined, complained cursed, nagged Susie or spoke ill of our Ugly dog. But I’ll be getting up soon and I just may need your help.   Life is like a dogsled. If you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes. I had children for the same reason Napoleon invaded Russia and with pretty much the same outcome. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Top of Form Bottom of Form
