Open House at 1364 Willoughby Road in Vestavia Hills Went Well Today I'm not usually a big fan of open houses but I must admit that I consider today's open house to have been a success.    No I don't have a buyer yet, but traffic flow was really good.  I held it open from 1:00 to 3:00 and after I left I ended up going back to show to it.  I had already gotten a call early this morning from an agent who wanted to show it between 4:00 and 6:00 AND I got calls from 2 other agents after the open house and they'll be showing today as well.   LIBRARY IN THE FOREST Vestavia Hills New Library is Open!     I've been hearing a lot about this brand new library and a couple of days ago I was close enough to swing by to take a look for myself.  What a treat......it was even better than I expected!  (pictures below)   DID YOU KNOW?  Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest is the first LEED certified library in Alabama.  LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.  It's exciting to see a GREEN project in the Birmingham area, especially as beautiful as this one turned out.   One of the librarians was kind enough to show me around and tell me some things I did not know:   Over 80% of the trees that had to be cut down were used in the construction of the building.  Also, all trees beyond 40 feet of the building were le... 01/08/2011

  O.T.'s on Acton Neighborhood Grill for Lunch, Dinner and Cocktails Vestavia Hills, AL     O.T.'s on Acton Neighborhood Grill recently opened in the Dolly Creek Shopping Center just off of I-459 and a familiar face to many is there!  Wayne Ellis (Old Timer), the former owner of O.T.'s in Lakeview is managing this new location which is owned by Dean Sanders and Paul Gartman.  O.T. brings with him many menu favorites and even some of the cooks from the Lakeview O.T.'s which operated for 18 years on Birmingham's Southside.  Do you remember those fried pickles and crawfish pie?  You'll find them here, as well as some new stuff too!     O.T.'s on Acton seats 125 guests and has 7 flat screen televisions and video games in the back room.  They are currently open for lunch, dinner and cocktail... 06/08/2010
