  Dailey & Vincent to perform Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Hoover Public Library. Dailey & Vincent, a bluegrass band that has won Vocal Group of the year 3 times from the International Bluegrass Music Association, was in such demand that they have added another concert to their series! They will perform this week, Sept 11-13, at the Hoover Public Library. The show starts at 8 PM and tickets are $25.  Better get yours before they are sold out. Discovery UMC Farmers Market Co-op begins THIS Saturday, June 8th.   Discovery United Methodist in Hoover, Alabama, is partnering with PEER, Inc. and the Eastlake United Methodist Church to bring fresh fruits and vegetables to seniors and YOU. The Eastlake Farmers Market, which is held in the parking lot of East Lake UMC, is open Saturdays, May to October. Home Sales in Hoover Alabama April 2013 Great News!  Home Sales in Hoover Alabama have increased in April 2013. Statistics from the Birmingham MLS show we had 130 closed sales – up from 111 in March.  Of the 130 homes sold in Hoover, 6 were condos, 8 townhouses and the remainder single family. Twenty Three were new construction, with 12 coming from Ross Bridge, 8 from Lake Cyrus, 2 from Heritage Park and One from the Preserve. The median salesprice of all closed homes was $239,950 with individual prices ranging from $65,000 for a 3 bedroom, 2 Bath condo at Patton Creek to $1,050,000 for a 6 bedroom 6 bath home in Greystone Legacy.  If you take out the new construction numbers, the average days on the market was 141 with a list to salesprice ratio of 95.8%.   I love good design photos.  I love sharing photos on Pinterest, Facebook, and on my blog. If the photos aren’t mine, I always give proper photo credit to the publisher of the photo to let people know it isn’t my work, and to show that it’s something I admire, or something I am pointing out to my reader. When it comes to a stager’s website or portfolio, all photos representing their work should be theirs, not stock photos or photos of  furniture companies portfolios in which the rooms have been staged or designed by their company.  A professional stager's portfolio should reflect homes in which they have staged, or in which they have done interior styling or presentation boards.   I recently had the opportunity to view a 'staged' model property  and one of the first things that struck my trained eye, was the fact that the room was rather small; and, unfortunately, the layout of the furniture seemed to actually accentuate that because it wasn't to scale and didn't seem to fit the room.  Second, the layout of the furniture, left a very small opening into which you had to enter the room in a single file sort of way to get to the seating area. This would not be good if you had several people in the room at one time. The arrangement, when standing in the the doorway/entryway of the home, does not show off the fireplace and tall ceilings, and draw your eye inward, but instead, your eye is visually stopped by the back of the sofa, and the view of the fireplace is bloc... 02/13/2013

Every now and then I will have a client or two who hire us for a market preparation consult or staging services, only to justify their reasons why they don't need to do something we have advised them to do.  And, it goes something like this: Well I don't really need to do that because I won't be living here.  Yes, but your potential buyers will be, and they certainly do not want to have to pay top dollar and then come in and replace your old carpeting because of pet odors and stains or repaint the exterior because it hasn't been painted since 19_____.   More than likely, they won't offer you what you want or perhaps not put in an offer and the opportunity of a sale may be missed. We had been thinking for a while that we wanted to offer an E Design Service, in addition to our other tiered services, for our long distance clients.
