I write a lot about The Villages, Florida and all it has to offer within The Villages.  There is so much more to enjoy just outside the bubble most folks don’t think about.  Yes, Disney is 50 miles away along with Sea World, Universal Studios and LEGOLAND but there is so much more than the major attractions. Over 3,800 toys were donated this year.   This year the Town Holiday Committee coordinated the annual Christmas Tree and Star of David lighting so Santa could stop by that event. The event ta...

WAYS TO INSPIRE HOPE DURING THE HOLIDAYSThe holidays are a great time to spend with family, friends, and giving. Here are some tips to make the holidays special:Help out a neighbor. If you have a neighbor who needs help shoveling, decorating, holiday shopping, or writing holiday cards, offer to lend a hand. This is also a great opportunity to get the whole family involved. Even young kids can pitch in to decorate—and help take the decorations down once the holidays are over.Give gifts to teachers. Teachers work tirelessly all year long, and the holidays are the perfect time to show your thanks. Give a Starbucks gift card in a coffee mug, custom stationery, or even a classroom sign. Don’t forget to include a handwritten note from your child expressing why they appreciate their teacher.In...
