Well, the saying "the house has good bones" did come from somewhere...

Home again, home again...

Older home, newer home it doesn't matter.  A body in the wall would be an immediate call to the police and my home would become an instant crime scene. I'm going to go on record and say I wouldn't react well.

Part of me says how old is the house and how much inspecting did you do. If you would have talked to the neighbors or cops, maybe Intel would suggest possible foul play at that house. Depending on how much I like the house, I would have helped solve the crime then brought in someone to clear it banish any spirits (I know someone that does that), and finish the renovation having put that poor soul to rest finally and maybe solve the mystery for the family. Not something I'd want to find but fascinating all the same!

I would not be at all happy. I would have to report it to the police and the follow-up would be a pain in the neck.

Who can argue "juju"? LOL.  So, you find a complete skeleton & what to do? I would make the decision at that time. Fascinating, however.

I saw this. That skull had been there quite a while. Does make me wonder what happened 150 years ago.

I'd contact the police immediately. It wouldn't make me move though. It would be quite the story to tell!

With old homes I suggest to clients that they do an infra-red inspection behind the walls... so most likely that body would have been noticed prior to closing.

I'm sure this house will be haunted much like my High School Prospect Hall with the famous ghost story of Agnes in the wall. 👻

I don't "know" how I would react but imagine there would be gasps, more than a few screams and an overall creepiness entering the scene.

That explains the " Ooh ooh that smell" Joan Cox. Make sure it is on the property disclosure on resale listing.

It would depend on the condition of the body.  If it were fresh with maggots and worms crawling around I would vomit and then call the police.  It were an older body with a skeleton I'd call the police.  Moving wouldn't be on my mind right away.  I would want to get some history and see if there was something that should have been disclosed.  Attorney might be my next call.

Well I did find a body in the first rehab I bought way back when....but it was a bat!!  Made some money on that house so it was good juju!

On a creepy note....I heard on the local news this weekend that some old guy had a body in a freezer when the cops entered the house.  They couldn't figure out how the old dude was connected to the dead person.....it all seemed weird and very messed up.  All the neighbors were not happy....

I would probably try to solve a crime.

It depends on how old the body is. If it is 50ish years old I'd probably be ok but if it was a recent crime I'd be a bit concerned.

Did this actually happen??
