I am with Katina Hargrove 352-551-0308 - I fly solo and have done so since January 2012.  I love it. My home office is where I worked long before I went independent.  It is the perfect size and has all the equipment I need. 

Small if you define it by the number of agents (there are 3 of us plus admin support) but mighty big when it comes to successfully serving our clients! I've been with our boutique brokerage since Dec. 2008 after 4 years with a large national franchise. We are the oldest independently owned brokerage in Montgomery County, MD, founded in 1946. I'm honored to be a part of such a deep-rooted, locally invested, family brokerage!

p.s. I also have ink and I am the only one (so far lol).

I've had multiple offices over the last 25 years, typically 110 sqft foot rectangles with a window. Currently I'm in my largest office ever, 250 sqft with bay & ocean views!

    Number of agents?  Square footage of your brick and mortar?  SEO ranking of your website?  Production in dollars sold per agent?

    Or does "Big" mean years of satisfied clients and customers?  Countless happy sellers and happy buyers, many of whom became lifelong friends?  Is "Big" defined in how you feel about your life, and how people feel about you?  

   When you walk into a room, do people give you a smile and a nod of recognition, because they perceive you as "Big"?  When there is a problem with a transaction, the parties cannot agree - but then you show up, the parties feel relieved; "Oh thank goodness Andrew is here, he will fix this!"

    "Big" can mean different things to different people.  Whatever "Big" means to you, go for it, achieve it.

My office is home and I've operated out of it since 2007! 3 agents, all brokers, all from home offices. One is referral only and only to us. I have tattoos, I don't think they do, LOL
My life and business IMMEDIATELY improved when I ended my storefront lease and moved it here.

My office is in my house and small and also at Starbucks.

I would like to see the tried & true concepts make the rounds such as all wearing the same blazers. Bring back pounding pavement, canvasing, & all the rest & people will brand to the blazer like we do with military uniforms

My broker is in 42 states, cloud based,   10,000+ agents,  we all work from home.   We all brand separately which is fine for me.  At this point in my career, I love this arrangement.  My living room has been converted into an office.  

I moved from an office of about 120 agents with an average of less than $3 million per agent, to an office with closer to 50 agents, but our office average is more like $8-$10 million per agent.

Don't give them any ideas about tatooing us.

My office is a large historic home in a wonderful historic community. We house 50 agents there. It's a boutique firm and absolutely fabulous - a support staff with talent pouring out those doors!

I did have an agent, but she wanted to "flap her wings" and to to Liv Sothebys and try that.  So, back to flying solo.  No tats, allergic to needles!

I started at a Coldwell Banker office where all offices were in an open area with no privacy.  I then went to a RE/MAX office with my own private office for twenty years.  The office had an incredible view and was about twelve feet by fourteen feet in size.  It had two desk.  I ended up with my own company in which my private office is our fifth bedroom.  It is about ten feet by ten feet is size.  There is never a meeting with a client there.  Starbucks or other public areas are set for meetings if not at their house.

I'm with a large office that gives me support but I run my business like a boutique office. We have a lot of agents and we all do things the way we feel bets fits our model and personal business. 

This question is back handed snooty. So what if you wear a blazer? Same goes for a stupid name tag.

The days of yellow colored blazers are long gone.  Likewise, I think name tags have dropped off the must have list.  I am not sure when I last saw a magnetic sign on a car.  We can all add items we have seen in our industry.  

Bottom line, What ever work for you.  My office is small.  My business is doubling in size this week.   from 2 to 4 agents,  The industry is changing.  This year might be the most significant change we have seen in a while.  My crystal ball is cloudy right now and I am holding on to my rocker but not waiting for the changes in the pipeline.

I have gone from a small commercial office to expanding into multiple residential real estate offices to compliment to the commercial operation. Did have a long stint in managing multiple offices for franchises. At the end of my career, I managed onsite new construction and resale offices for large golf course developments.
