Yes but, there's a proper procedure - kick it until it's head's-up, turn around once in a circle so that you are 'finding' a heads-up penny, then you may pick it up!! 💰

In 2019, my uncle, my grandmother, and our guinea pig passed away within 3 weeks. It was a rough time. Trying to cope, we went on a lot of walks. The first time, we found 3 pennies lying in the street, one next to the other. I don't remember if they were heads up or down but we didn't care. It was a sign, a comforting one. We've found 3 pennies in one day many more times since then. Yes, I always pick them up and say Hi to my grandma or uncle!

Why wouldn't I? What difference does it make which side the penny was showing? As Benjamin Franklin said "a penny saved is a penny earned."

Expert guidance. Exceptional results.

Ah, Friday the 13th! Many people have superstitions about this day. Some see it as unlucky, while others embrace it as a day of fun and adventure. You might consider picking up that penny as a way to challenge the notion of bad luck. Why not turn a so-called unlucky day into something positive?

Celebrating this day could include enjoying a lucky meal or wearing a favorite charm. Embracing joy can shift your perspective on superstitions. You may even find that this day brings unexpected opportunities. So, instead of fearing Friday the 13th, think of it as a chance to create your own luck. Every little act can lead to a brighter outcome!

As someone with a numismatic background- starting from childhood- No I won't pick up the penny. We don't know what might trigger a child's interest in numismatics- but if finding penny's on the ground could start their interest in the hobby- I am all for encouraging it. Now it's an Indian Head or a Large Cent (both pre-date the Lincoln penny) then I couldn't pass that up to at least pick it up.  I might ultimately leave it for another to find- but that is a different story.
