 Does the platform allow a search using hashtags?   Some do, some do not.

No clue Michael Elliott as I have never used them because I never understood what they were about. Now that I read the answers to your question I understand and I might use them sometime if I think it appropriate.

I think they can depending on the media. I follow several hashtags on Instagram. For example, I might follow #carync so anything about my town comes up in my feed.

Yes depending on the source and content we use them to help users find our content, increase SEO and ranking among articles. The use of relevant hash tags as mentioned earlier does also help you in using the correct ones to boost relevance.

     Yes they do. #hashtags link information on a single topic, they help get your work discovered and provide instant results. Save time and help organize your content Michael Elliott . Improve your visibility.

     But remember, worthwhile content uploaded on a regular basis is needed to enhance hashtag, keywords, tags, title etc on everything you do.

     Hashtags are only one of many SEO components to dial in to enhance your media for greater exposure.

      What you do on each media platform (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram etc) is not the same approach either. Be consistent, have a plan, study what works for you from your own personal experience. Tammy Lankford, is right.
