I lived in San Diego long ago.  It was my first experience living on my own after many years in Orange County.

My first apartment was in the UTC area which I know is very familiar to you.  I then moved to Cardiff by the Sea with work colleagues.  San Diego was and is a beautiful spot in our state.  At the time, I thought it was laid back and I was anxious to move north to Los Angeles County for a job promotion.

It has been many years since our visit.

If we returned, we would want to visit the zoo and to see our family  members who live in Oceanside.

I had a stretch of about 10 years where I'd come out once or twice a year.  I had a supplier in La Jolla with a plant in TJ.  We (both of us) came out for a RE/MAX convention.

I didn't ever visit the zoo or Seaworld.  Maybe my favorite thing to do was drive up to Point Loma and just enjoy the view from up by the old lighthouse.  Enjoyed the food in Old Town and The Marine Room in La Jolla and a brunch at Hotel Del Coronado.  Did catch a game at Petco once, still have the ticket stub on my bulletin board in Cubicleland.  The weather was always great, as long as we didn't go too far inland, then amazing how quickly the temps picked up.

I haven't been in San Diego, since I was last station at Miramar having my IT training with the Marines in the late 70's. So, I can't recall much except for our visits to Tijuana on leave!!!

Most of my family lives in San Diego.  Brothers, Sisters, Nieces, Nephews, the entire tribe, except one brother lives there. Yet the one brother who no longer lives there owns 7 properties in San Diego. His children and grandchildren live there.  They all love it there.

Me, not so much.  I spent one semester living in Ocean Beach while attending college.  I enjoyed being closer to my siblings.

Both parents lived in San Diego as well. That is where they decided to reside after they were finished traveling (empty nesters). They likely chose San Diego because, at that time, 3 out of 6 of their children were living there.

I have spent a lot of time there over many years. I have nothing bad or negative to say about it.  The weather is amazing.

I visited San Diego once, for a week, in 1978. I remember the weather was amazing, San Diego was very clean, and the Zoo was a lot of fun. I don't remember much else from that trip!

Thomas, we have been there three times and the climate was just amazing in the summer time with the ocean breeze;  it was actually chilly in the shade in a short sleeve shirt, and this was such a welcome and unexpected respite from the summer humidity of Indiana.

I just love looking at the aircraft carriers across the bay over on Coronado when they were in port.  Our kids enjoyed Sea World and the Zoo, and there was a neat little park on the water by Seaport Village where you could relax and enjoy the locals flying some very intricate and fancy kites.

I was, however, disappointed with the beaches in the area as the water was very cold, murky, and some of the beaches to the north would pound you with rocks the size of eggs with each new wave.

It was a beautiful city and for me the climate around the harbor was the main attraction.  I  would have no interest in baking in the 100+ degree heat living outside the city to the east.  We loved the older homes around the Point Loma area!

I visited on a trip out west during my childhood and always remembered the trip to the Zoo, went back again with my kids when in town for a convention and it's still the best Zoo I have been to. Also enjoyed the Hotel Del Coronado on another trip for a convention.

The Zoo, Sea World and Wild Animal park are worthy of a visit. Then, pick-out a nice restaurant on the wharf & C-FOOD (seafood) away.

It's been awhile since I've been in SD.  When I used to go more regularly (which has been quite some time) it was to sail with some friends which was always a blast.  And of course we did the zoo and sea world etc as well as lots of great little cafes and restaurants.

We have visited San Diego briefly. We enjoyed the good weather while were there. We dined at an excellent Mexican restaurant in Old Town. We drove over to Balboa Park and drove around to see the sights. We had a drink at the Hotel Del Coronado.

I have never been to San Diego, California, my mother did live there in the 70's and has some wonderful pictures of the area. If I ever did visit, I would expect to see palm trees by the beaches and spectacular food and sites to see.

My first visit to San Diego was in the late 1970's, on a road trip from Phoenix.  I drove west on Interstate 8, then drove up to Los Angeles and returned via Interstate 10.

San Diego was absolutely beautiful.  A view of the Pacific Ocean that is spectacular.

I returned in the 1990's, another road trip, driving south from San Francisco.   My visit then was very short.

My brother talks about moving to La Jolla.  He lives in Scottsdale AZ, he goes there for vacations.

I have visited many times as my inlaws lived there.  So over the past 23 years I have been about 15 times for a week or longer each visit.  My husband also lived there in his teenage years.  I love some of the touristy things like sea world and the zoo along with old town.  Authentic Mexican was good also and I learned what in Georgia is Mexican isn't in fact Mexican at all.  Chula Vista and El Cajon are two of my favorite towns because they are on the smaller side and more like home and while I like to visit cities, I'm a country gal through and through.

Well, I am in SO CAL so I have been to San Diego many times going back to the 1970's. Two of my kids live in North Park. I like Old Town, The Gaslamp Quarter, Balboa Park, Point Loma and the lighthouse, The San Diego Zoo, and Seaworld. If I had to pick a favorite, I would say Balboa Park.

NOT YOURS E JEAN! LOL

Plus my stepson lives in Esco.

So many many times over the years . . . San Diego is historically rich, and I especially have enjoyed Coronado Island and Hotel Del Coronado.

And of course, I'd say besides MX, San Diego invented the fish taco!

The thing I enjoy most about San Diego is leaving it.  I've lived in the Los Angeles area for about fifty years and have been there about a hundred times so I've burned out on going there.  It seems like we end up there anyway and can't wait to leave.
