I am not seeing that decline here.  Prices are stable based upon low inventory.  I love working with numbers and would love to see where redfin draws their information.  There is such a diversity of information and filters that two individual can run these numbers and come up with different results. so I ran the numbers myself and here is what I found

I'm just outside of Washington DC and our inventory is still extremely low, so we are not seeing prices going down. If the property shows well and priced properly a multiple offer situation is highly likely.

Not at all. There was a tiny downward movement late last fall, but it all changed over the winter and went crazy in the spring.

Can't say I'm experiencing a downward push in prices. Home prices are not appreciating at the same rate they were in 2021 and first part of 2022, but they are still holding their own. When you have just 1.3 months of inventory you are still in a seller's market.

In my San Francisco East Bank market, south and east of Oakland, buyers who allow themselves to be guided by the cited article will find themselves on the losing end of a bidding war.

Inventory is woefully low and there are plenty of buyers.

I am receiving more automated search emails that have précis reductions. I do contribute this to seller (& in some instances listing agents) overpricing properties from the start. Don’t get me wrong, we still have plenty of properties that are selling over list price too! But I think the days of anything hitting the market is going to get multiple offers and sell over the asking price are setting. We are probably fairly level in pricing.

Not a surprise.  Some of those markets (such as Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle) are known for being dramatically spikey... but downward "trending"?  I'm not sure we're ready to call it a trend.

Prices go up and prices go down. Right now we have a strong market in our area. I see more prices being adjusted BUT, in my opinion, the current market is way overpriced

I have taken a little break from market reports since my move, but my last one did show a market decline in the Elk Grove area.  My Elk Grove friends say that the market has stabilized there since then.

As we all know, the market data is geo-specific.  To say that an entire city is seeing a decline does not mean specific areas within the city are seeing a decline in home prices.

I live in Wisconsin and we are not seeing the values go down -- at least not yet.  We are still in a seller's market and buyers are still overbidding $5k to $40k over asking.  Crazy!  The biggest challenge?  Getting Inventory!

The Charlotte market is slowing a bit but, sellers in the hot communities continue to command higher prices. Our inventory is still painfully low but, our buyer pool has been reduced in most areas as well. Appreciation is at a much more 'reasonable' rate now than in the teens we were seeing in the past 2-3 years.

One source doesn't mean much, especially when all real estate is local. A woman I know, put her house up for sale in SLC last month, got 8 offers and ended up closing $25,000 higher than list price...for example!

According to our County Assessor, prices here are going up faster and faster. Of course, we're a rural county. Assessment on my house more than doubled in 4 years. And they swear assessments are based on local sales.
