An excellent question. Perhaps a good position to practice and market would be as a consultant as the public is only getting media point of view. Agents can offer a more balanced choice field.

Congress passes Bill after Bills filled with Pork & Pets will force the FED to keep increasing Interest Rates . Let’s hope and pray that we aren’t driven into early 1980 rates !!

William Piotrowski, my brother owned a house in Naperville on a lake and his property taxes were $30,000 a year. I see that is the real estate market you serve. So you are trying to speak hyper local, in your marketplace with the gloom and doom right? Using dramatic words like plunge and tone of oh no, what are you going to do about it scary.
The Naperville market is not the same one I list, twist and sell (repeat) in. Not just houses we market, lots of land, a majority of our buyers don't need a mortgage and pay cash. Everything so much lower priced in rural America, not when you are outside Chicago and city high cost of living.
Since COVID and heighten tele commute bring your remote online job with you happened, Maine continues to be a #1 destination to regroup.
I was a broadcast journalist and could have reported "The Naperville real estate market saw a 13.2% decline in new mortgage applications in 2022. Part of the slow down due to it's winter and the market traditionally shifts into a lower gear around the holidays. Also, affordable housing inventory is down. Hard to apply for a mortgage loan on housing stock that doesn't exist.
Naperville local real estate agent William Piotrowski reports a trend of home buyers leaving the state or heading out into the more affordable suburbs for housing.
(Turning to camera 2) In sports, the Cubs are holding their own, in the weather Suzy Tight Dress says expect nothing but sunshine showing and not a hint of rain for the weekend, Now this... (fade to black, roll the ad spot cluster. Camera one, wide shot on Biff Jackson sportscaster and slow dolly in when we come back from commercial break in 3, 2, 1 .. Take camera one.)
We will adjust and make out just fine in the existing and future real estate markets in the local areas we serve. Mortage apps are down because inventory is getting tighter.. building materials still high. Everything is not just interest rate driven.
The Naperville housing market is somewhat competitive. Homes in Naperville receive 3 offers on average and sell in around 57 days. The average sale price of a home in Naperville was $468K last month, up 3.1% since last year. The average sale price per square foot in Naperville is $207, up 7.3% since last year.

I dont let little things like that get in the way, plenty of other people buying homes that are not concerned, after all we have seen and prospered with much higher rates.
