I use Open Street Map, https://www.openstreetmap.org for my website maps. Works for directions too.

I have used Mapquest for a long time, primarily as a backup for the GPS in my car in case I lose a signal.

I still use Map Quest all the time. Maybe I will check out some of the others you are talking about.

Generally, I use Google maps. Somehow, I've never worried about having a clean map... typically I just use them to get an idea of distance between two specific places.

Know what you mean and you don't want the name of your competitor showing up on your map or just want the map, just the map. I would recommend another map source... not Google, not Bing Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate . In Maine I use USDA maps, soil conservation soil maps, GIS maps, topo and contours from state of Maine and there must be the same many maps to take into photoshop to modify in the Sunshine State of Florida. (It's not pronounced FLOOR-ah-der right) Hope this helps!

It depends on what I'm searching. Our county has a good GIS map so if I'm looking up property I use that. Otherwise I use google maps.
By the way, I still use my Garman for navigation. I didn't elect to have nav in my car. Garman allows me to download my mileage on a spreadsheet. It makes doing my mileage easy. I don't like looking at directions on my phone like so many. I something have to do that with new construction.

Google & you can shut those 'recommendations' off if you search for the correct box. Mine do not have them. My phone tries to put suggestions all by itself all the time.

I use google maps ad sometimes Mapquest. Never tried to remove icons. Had an Acura with GPS and the icons drove me crazy. Use Waze on my cell phone.
