Yes, you have to be careful and go with your gut. Just this week I got a call from someone who said we're Facebook friends. I looked him up and found I didn't have a FB friend by that name. He told me he's sending me a link to WhatsApp which he did. I promptly hung up on him and deleted and blocked his text.

I always get suspicious when they come right out and want to buy a specific home without asking any questions about the property first... and no previous contact or introduction about who they are.
