NAR is alleging that REX falsely advertises to consumers by promising more money by not using the MLS and that their technology will find the perfect buyer.  The suit alleges some other things as well.

Interesting read.  Will be interesting to see what (if any) impact this will have on non-Realtor brokerages.

I've read some about this but haven't formed a real opinion as yet. Not familiar enough with REX to determine if NAR has a point here... maybe I'll get a chance one day to read up on REX and form more of an opinion.

huh .... NAR doing a favor & taking the lead on a simultaneous suit against Z.

I guess REX thought they were big enough to play on this playground. Never thought of the MLS as discriminatory at all - just the opposite. Let's all share the info.

Seems NAR is defending the narrative, the same narrative REALTORS are thought to repeat, that only a listing in the MLS provides proper market exposure....NO EXCEPTIONS.
In essence, mother bear is protecting the monopoly and all it's union members and subordinate brokerages.
We are so comfortable with business as usual within the sandbox what is happening on the other side is beyond our prevue.
Change is coming.
NAR has to go or change DRAMATICLY.
Too much relinquishing of power involved for NAR to go quietly.
When an independent broker advertises dramatic saving by paying NO PROFESSIONAL fees but adds a $20,000 service in the contract should AGENTS expose the practice in all their SM venues or abide by the sandbox rules and wait for mother bear to sue?
Change is coming and momma bear feels she cannot dance to the new song so let's ban dancing. What momma bear should have been doing 10 years ago is reconfiguring for block chain, smart forms and anonymous buying and selling. This is the pattern of how monopolies are broken. They become more preoccupied with preservation and stop innovating.
