As a matter of fact, Richie, I just saw one when I was checking on my hummingbird feeder. Being the seasoned Girl Scout that I am, I let out a semi-scream and walked away. I don't do critters or crawlers!!! LOL As far as I know, he's still hanging around.

I'm with Ryan.

Let me tell you a story about a tick that I picked off my dog. Pulled it off, hadn't bitten her yet so I flushed it down the toilet. Hours later having to use the loo, guess who was sitting on the toilet seat? Ok, this time I'm making sure it is going down like the tidy bowl man in his boat. Hour later I check again & guess who? Yep he knows how to swim & scuba.

I call husband to get the blow torch from the garage.

I don't like spiders even though they serve a useful purpose. An unexpected web hit is most distasteful. I'm told they don't like peppermint oil

Capture and release ... always!

I do not kill anything inside my house.  They are all sent back outside.

My neighbor found a black window spiker and web on his patio.  My advice. Get rid of it. They are deadly.  I don't want spiders crawling around on our alcoves and patios. No thanks!

I destroy the webs especially when they are on my car!  We don't have gardens in midrise condos so when the web gets built often they go shortly thereafter.

It is also the worst to walk around a property for sale and get tangled in the web....uuuggghhhh

A spider inside gets killed.
A brown recluse gets killed faster.
Outside I leave them alone if their webs are not in the passage way.
If you are familiar with orb weavers,  one thread across the walkway is incredibly noticeable in how strong the thread is.
Once a year all webs are cleared so the critters can start with a fresh slate.
Just two days ago, on a run northbound, nature delivered a 5 foot diamond back to see if I was paying attention.
Live and let live.

It depends on the spider and the situation.  I would take on ANY spider if I was protecting my child (when she was a child) or my grandchildren.  However if it's me and my husband I'll run and scream like a little girl.

I would kill a brown recluse outside or a black widow, but all others outside are great.  Some spiders I catch inside and release, others I smash. And once when I was in the army I was inside and a giant camel spider fell from the rafters of the tent I was in and I ran like hell.

I am a catch and release kind of guy too.  I will even stop a pickleball game to move a spider or buy along.  In our last tournament, one of our opponents stopped the game to save a bee.  I liked him right away.

I used to hate spiders... And then I was a mom of two very small boys and I found a friggen nest of spiders on the ceiling between our bedrooms. I couldn't pass my fear of spiders to them, could i? So I pretended it was no big deal - "wow, look at all those spiders!!! We'll have to put them outside where they belong, right?" and I don't remember how I removed them all but I remember standing on a stepstool thinking, geez, now what?

My boys are not afraid of spiders, and I no longer am either, so I guess I did something right.

Spiders eat fleas, mosquitoes, mites, ticks, other pests.  Spiders are your friends!

If you have to remove a web, gently relocate the spider first.  Then sweep away the web.

When I was a child I would get ants and flies and put them in spider webs to watch. I learned a lot about nature that way.

Richie,

The outdoor wolf spiders who love to dwell in the grass and rocks at the edge of the pond are swiftly dispatched by our pond's bluegill when I mow the edge of the pond.

I do confess I hasten their end by placing the mower casing on the large rocks so it vibrates to scare the spiders onto the water where the bluegill are waiting to ambush them from below the water.  BAM!!!!!

I have had monthly pest control from the foundation up since this house was built! So RARELY do I encounter any 'critters' in the house or near it. There's just nothing for them to eat!

I like spiders because they kill flies. We never kill spiders, although there are some toxic ones out there; not near us. Who doesn't have special feelings for spiders after reading/watching Charlotte's Web? Some like to spin their webs near the top of the garage doors, where our Nest camera is and when they move, web cam registers them as a "person in the driveway"; they look huge on camera, like big monsters!

I do not like spiders! I get the heeby geebies!  The webs are a nusance, especially in low basements when showing properties.  Outside they don't bother me ... that's where they should be! Will Live if they are outside ... probably the death sentence if they cross my path unexpectedly.

Many dowtown hirise buildings near the lake have seasonal problems with spiders in large quantity. Spraying of balconies is required if you want to use them. So the death sentence is the only way to go.
