Probably... but have never checked... not sure why I'd market another agent's listings.

I do not know.  I have never considered doing so.  My guess is that maybe it does given the many requests I receive from other agents asking for permission to do so and asking to host my listings open.

Neither are ever granted.

I just took a "forced" mls class yesterday...this subject came up.

If you have IDX you have advertise anyone's listing through that medium...but cannot advertise someone else's listing elsewhere for your benefit unless you get permission from the listing agent.

Stellar MLS is the largest in Florida and the 3rd largest in the country behind California and (I think) Mass.

Advertising another broker's listing requires the permission from the listing broker and mention of the listing broker in the marketing in order to avoid the mistaken notion that the one doing the marketing is the listing broker.

Yes, it is allowed so long as there is consent of the listing Broker.  To Nina Hollander, Broker's question, pre-covid we used to let other agents hold our listings open.  Sometimes those agents would ask permission to use our photos (or take their own) and market to their sphere and on the socials, at their expense, that they were holding the home open.  We approved it (with the owner's blessing) as it increased the exposure of the home and had a better chance of pulling in buyers for the home and for that agent (the real reason anyone holds an open).

I have not seen it where Agent A walks up to Agent B and says "Can I advertise your listing for the fun of it?"  There is usually a reason, such as the open house.

They prefer/require that a link is provided to the entire MLS, not just a link to a specific listing. Agents can agree to market each others listings with broker approval and without mls needing to give permission.

Yep. As long as the listing agent agrees (In Writing) all is good. Usually see this within a brokerage as opposed to outside. Listing agent believe it will help agents find buyers for their listings.

Yes, permission of the brokerage is required under state law, most go further and get permission of the agent too.

hmm, it think a deeper dive into the broker to broker reciprosity agreement that is the life blood of the MLS needs to be better understood.
In many cases permission from the listing agetn is only a courtsey. The listing agent DOES NOT OWN THE LISTING.
And on the red footer at the bottom of the list of real estate available in BlueJay Estates is the disclaimer in pink font "Shown properties may not be the listed property of ABC real estate brokerage."

I believe the permission would first need to be given by the seller.

  That's what IDX is for.

And as for "MLS", I don't need their permission to do anything, unless I am cutting-and-pasting their descriptions and photos.  I will go to the Listing Broker for written permission if I want to market their listing.
