I took a class once about it and thought it would be a really good thing to do, but never got in the habit of it.  I tried a couple of ads, but that is the extent of my experience.

I have not. I believe there was some Fair Housing dust ups with it and they removed a bunch of the demographic controls. In doing so there is a lot less targeting ability than you used to have. Just make sure you are not advertising to your fellow agents when you make the leap.

Peter,

I have heard mixed reviews on Facebook ads.  We do not recommend them, and we are not Facebook fans.  Happy Saturday to you.  A

They've changed all the rules so it's harder to target. There are many groups that will teach you. I was one of them.

Someone targeted my one business page & now I can no longer advertise on it. Locked out since about the election. Happened to lots of people here also.

No... have never gotten much traction from ads on Facebook. And these days, while I have a presence I won't put money in their coffers.

I am with Ken Jones on this.  I would not spend a dime on FB ads.

In fact, I would not run ads on FB if they were "free" because there is no "free" with censorship.

Tried it and did not get a return of money spent. And like J.R. said, they have removed targeted demographics.

I used to and did have good results, however, the same thing that happened to Lyn Sims happened to me, and haven't been able to run ads since the election. To be honest, nor do I want to any longer. Travis Thom offers a lot of tips, you can follow him on social media.

I believe I've gotten better results with organic reach of my business page and a group I run than I ever did for the years I advertised and that was back when I was allowed to "target" my audience which now is much less focused than it used to be.   Consistant posting is key to engagement .

I do a little bit of advertising on fb, seems like in the past 6 months they would rather that I did not as they keep making it more and more difficult.

You might be better off starting a private facebook group aimed at providing members local real estate info. There are numerous fb marketing trainers/experts that you can follow to learn from. One is Mari Smith https://www.marismith.com/fbomm?fbclid=IwAR3EYyNhFKbNfVjXRyEtrfXBpxjuZlgpfktxXtWmQFNO1GMaEwYbqYSqGkM

Another is Michael Stelzner at https://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/author/mike-stelzner/

There are others, but these two are very active with social media research and I think you can learn a lot from them. There's a lot more to fb advertising than posting ads and boosting a post.
