If I understand correctly, your question is about having a photo appear in the search engine results.  ActiveRain doesn't control what photo, or even if any photo shows up.  That is determined by the search engines.

Couple of things.

You don't post an article on the search engines, you post an article on a website, and hopefully it get's indexed and ranked by the SEs.

If you are lucky enough to have a featured snippet of your article on Google, you can't control what image shows up with it.

The feature snippet can be yours and the image from another website - it's messed up, but it's the way it is.

Search engines are beyond our control, beyond the control of AR, and nobody really knows who pay to find the gate keeper for these.

Just keep posting, sometimes they will get it right, sometimes they will do something different.

Good answers here - I'd just add that if you're looking for a photo to match attribution, you may also be referencing the past 'authorship' program google ran that would tie content to it's creator.  That went away a while ago, unfortunately.

Good luck. You can include photographs in your blogs. It is up to you to have the content desired by search engines.
