We need and look forward to snow ... Sad when it melts too fast. Local fun and supports the local economy in Maine. My oldest son lives in Leadville CO and his outdoor recreational job with skiing, snow sledding, dog sled teams depends on snow! He leads white water rafting down the Colorado summers. More snow, more run off and river ride faster fun Will Hamm .

We are in the mountains too and the snow comes and goes all in a day or 2. Most of the time it's not worth bringing out the shovel, as we know it will be gone by the afternoon.

yes the other day I saw a mound of 3 feet disappear in an afternoon.

I love Ventura County.  The last few days it was in the upper 70s to low 80s and clear blue skies.  Today is in the mid 60s and windy, still clear blue skies.

We don't any to melt.  In the CA mountains and ski resorts, it probably does. A

I have not seen snow melt in my area ... ever, Will. 

My dogs would be so disappointed if our snow went away that quickly.

Are you getting Melting and Sublimation?

We had about 16" last week, then we got cold rain (freezing rain 15 miles to the south) which caused the snow/slush to linger for about 5 or 6 days! (it took out a few flat-roofs too with the extra weight)

I remember those heavy dumping, snow storms when living in Colorado Springs. Stay warm Will!

Easy answer, sometimes yes but most times no!

In Texas we can experience all four seasons in a 24 hour period.  

The only thing that melts around here is anything plastic left in the truck when it's 125 degrees! The last two days have been in the low 80s!

That is fast! Out here in Portland, Oregon we still have muddy piles of snow from the hit we got at the start of LAST week... not pretty! 

We received that much snow a week ago Wednesday and we still have about 3 inches on the ground. . . .not melting very fast in Salt Lake City, Utah

We ar enot that lucky, but the days are getting longer and sun stronger, all our snow should be gone in a couple of weeks.

If it's sunny and warm it melts quickly. Being you're at the elevation I bet it goes even quicker. When it's foggy out your can hear the fog eat the snow

Hi Will- since last week was the first time I've seen snow in Houston in years, I can only say "I have no idea!"  That said, our snow lasted for days because we had no sun and the temps stayed below freezing. 

Yes it melts immediately in Phoenix LOL!
