Not exactly...
Since the inaguration, the way they count the deaths has changed.
Previously, if someone had a cough and anything else that appeared to be covid, was tagged as covid...no covid test was required.
Now they have to have a positive covid test in order for it to be classified as covid.
Just that alone will cause a decrease...

The only thing that has ever mattered to me was what percentage of people were dying based on total cases. It was always about 1% or less of the total cases.
The thing I find interesting is that the most recent new cases in my mom's assisted living facility were asymptomatic. The weakest among us had asymtomatic COVID. This thing is going away on it's own.

I heard this morning on the biz news. Also heard that a Johns Hopkins Doctor said that the 1st shot appears to have 95% efficacy but they not sure for how long. All good news.

For the doubters out there that don't believe covid-19 caused a bunch of deaths.
Year : deaths
---------------------
2017 : 2,813,503
2018 : 2,831,836
2019 : 2,854,838
2020 : 3,187,086 (up to Dec 26)
Were some deaths miscounted as covid? Sure, maybe, but we still have hundreds of thousands above normal - explain that.

These number have been so full of crap since day one that I don't trust a damn thing. The CDC changed how cases were counted the day biden was sworn in. During President Trump's term they were counting a death as covid if there was any trace of the virus in the body, regardless of if they committed suicide, died in a car crash or took a 12 gauge to the chest. All actual cases of miscounted "covid" deaths.
If things had been accurately reported, we would have had a more fair election.

This reminds me of Orwells 1984 book/movie where they announce chocolate rations have increased over last months allowance and people cheer that things are getting better. However, there is no chocolate but news of it. The cases of infection reporting up or down remain obscure and incomplete. To accept a report that all is well is like believing everything you see and hear on the Internet becasue it exists. Reader beware...

Raymond,
I am happy to report that we zero cases in our county reported, and we have more availabilty in ICU. We subscribe to WSJ and I have not seen that bulletin. A
PS. Also the vaccine now does not need extreme refrigeration. Amen

Remember all those SUPER Spreader events, maskless people jammed together spreading. And the holiday travels of everyone infecting grandma and grand pa.
And more recently the Super Bowl in Tampa between Tampa Bay Bucanners and Kansas City. Alarms sounded SUPER SPREADER but the street parties raged on, maskless, packed together....and in none of these cases the promised spike...where did the spike go. In TAmpa, everyone stayed in TAMPA....where's the spike? Of course there are reports of family gatherings were they all got sick, but that is not a SPIKE.
Do you think the crazies simply passed on the chance to say "I Told You So."
There is something stinky here.
It is possible what Trump said, "It will suddenly just disappear" has some validity since the the presumption is MANY WERE INFECTED and got over it naturally and natural immunity prevails.
The vaccination rates and drop in infections DO NOT ADD UP.
We are all being 'managed.'
It going to be a long four years.

Politics has absolutely nothing to do with it. Changing health habits, shutdowns, and common sense social distancing has been the key. I have 4 people is my "circle" that are dead from complications of COVID 19 and a good friend in the local VA hospital that they have to turn over several times a day to keep him alive. My daughter, a hairdresser, had it really bad. It's a virus that doesn't care what your beliefs are. It's not a hoax, they didn't change the way it's counted since the inauguration and at least the current administration had the foresight to order the vaccines. We've had both doses but still wear a mask when we go out. Get used to it, masks are going to be around for a long time thanks to the way this country originally responded to the pandemic. Enjoy your weekend and be smart about your health.
