Go with your gut. No one knows better than you what you need to do. How coaching has or has not helped others may or may not be a measure of how it may help you.
I am of the camp that coaching is a waste of money. If you truly know what to do then how will a coach help you?
I wish you all the best with whatever you decide.

If you don't know what to do, or know what to do but need motivation, coaching is a good way to go. Not all coaches are created equal. Not all coaches have actually sold real estate. I would avoid those ones.

I thought it helped me alot. I was coached around 5 years which were my most productive.
If you don't 'want' to be coached, it's not going to work & you'll be wasting your $$. People fight the coach which makes no sense. One of the hardest things is dissecting your business with honesty.

My suggestion: take advamtage of all the FREE classes which most coaches offer and take away that information and see if any of the information/techniques is valuable for you and your business. By the way, your first task: Resist any and all sales pitches to sign up for any paid training. If you fall for paid coaching at this point - you have FAILED the first part of the exam. Good luck.

When I started in this business, several people recommended getting a coach.
I spoke to two coaches and decided I knew more then they did, despite the fact that I knew almost nothing.
I think coaches are just like the RE "experts" who write articles about buyers and sellers and have never closed a transaction...
I learned by educating myself on everything related to real estate.
If you can't take action, get a life coach to find out why because being self motivated is a key ingrediant to success.

If you are hesitating on the money spent, can you find an accountability partner in your office. Sounds like you need someone to hold your feet to the fire to what you should be doing. Maybe you can do the same for someone else. Just a thought.

It sounds like you need an accountability partner more than a coach. A good mentor might also be helpful and could even serve as an accountability partner.

That is the very reason I love coaches! We do know what we have to do but, they hold us accountable. What I can do on my own, without an accountability coach is fine but, with a coach, there's about a 25% difference.
I think that while they not only hold us accountable, they are great sounding boards and there's no doubt about it, two heads are always better than one!
Good luck with whatever you decide, Teresa!

Have you considered an accountability partner?? Someone that you can REALLY share with, who you don't want to disappoint, who can help motivate you? Might be a good start. The right accountability partner or group can be a great thing.

Teresa Cripps I have a friend that paid for coaching and received nothing out of it. She was outside of her comfort zone. didn't follow thru. Wasted money and felt bad. I suggest getting a partner that holds you accountable, make a list of the activities you wish to preform better and research ways to get results. If you feel the need to work with a coach be sure to check them out before spending that hard earned money.

Buffini & Company coaching has been a part of my very successful career for 21 years and you do not spend monry, you invest in yourself. It's woth trying but if you're not willing to do it for 6-12 months before evaluating it, save your money. Some months offer more than others.

I have spent very little, so it was always worth what I spent and more.
Yes, a coach can be well work the money especially if they can look at your situation with objectivity, give great guidence, and keep you accountable.
Of course you have to be willing to take the advice and be accountable.

I've found most "coaching programs" to be more like a Cult. Most just regurgitate common sense and try to spin it as their own. One very famous one I know actually borrows from Mary Kay Ash!! You can find most of what you need online and I agree with Candice A. Donofrio Find what inspires you which will be far more valuable than a baby sitter of your business!

Hard to say- some people are coachable and others aren't. Finding a coach you feel comfortable with is another thing. There is no shortage of coaches: Buffini - Linda Mclean- Floyd Wickman - Tom Ferry - Mike Ferry - Amy Stoehr - etc-etc Do your research - some coaches never had a real estate license. That old saying " Those that can't do - Teach" applies.

From my observation the sucess of failure of receiving coaching depends one one thing......that is whether the student is ready.
The student who is not ready has taken ownership of the words 'I Know."
What that means is when the coach, councelor, friend, assoicate, trainer, says something that has been heard before, they click the play button in their brain and replay the old clip meanwhile what they hear is 'Whaa, whaa, whaa, whaa.' "I KNOW" are the most costly words to own and render one unteachable.
You must ask yourself, "Are you ready to be held accountable?" If your answer is an unconditional "YES" you will benefit tremendously from coaching and destined to become their success story.
Since you state "I KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO' is sounds like the missing link is accountability. So, "Why are you not doing what you know you must?"
HINT: Counter intentions are a reality that rips up with the left hand all that the right hand has planted. That often look like, 'I won't start becuase I know how it will end.(click play) I don't want to go through that again."
I know I did not do well in my first Ultra, but as my attemps repeated, success has come to visit me. What changed? Understanding that those things that keep me from success in completing the 25+ miles were FALSE.
I was not going to die. My knees were not going to break. My heart was not going to stop. My breathing would continue. I was NOT out of gas. As I mentally pulled the teeth from the roaring lion of lies, my progress towards the goal become more clear until the reality I was in control of my body became tangible. What we fear most are in reality LIES.
Regain control by doing what you know you must. Choose a listener who will hold you accountable.

When you daily study and ask questions. As time logged as a real estate professional increases. You learn what you need to do when and how in no matter what kind of market. There is your personal coaching from lots of AR mentors.
Ask for help, glean the answers, adjust your "sales". This platform has lots of experience in many markets and can coach you from lots of levels. Where do you struggle and what do you need help with? Some areas a coach does not fix but just helps identify these ten things lead to success, these ten habits hurt your career.
Better use of time, controlling your spending, just pure more experience may be all that's needed to tighten up slack. To be a stand out and pull down a bigger piece of your local market Teresa Cripps

We're all wired differently, you know yourself better than any coach. I made the mistake of hiring a coach, that was one of the most expensive mistakes I ever made at $12,000 for a year. I am not coachable but you may be different. I started using a vision board and make a list of activities that would get me to my goal. I do things that inspire me. It could be listening to webinars, talking to those who are already where I want to be. Affirmations also work for me. Wishing you all the best.

Hi Teresa Cripps
That's a tough question for another person to answer for you.
For me, and only for me, I am not 'Real Estate Coach-able"
Don't come at me and try to teach me 'real estate'
But... if you want to teach me sales skills I will buy that stuff and take that coaching all day long
Because I've learned over the years real estate is sales
Prospecting, Presenting and Closing
For me I want to be good at Prospecting, Presenting and Closing.
And those skills are where the money is at.
Happy Selling!
